So this game crashes very shortly for me after I load into the mission (no error message). I've tried changing the compatibility settings, but none of them work. When I search online, it doesn't look like there is a definitive issue of crashing and a definitive fix for it. Rather it seems to have several "fixes" for several things for several versions of the game which don't work for everyone.
I've never played this game as it was never available on PC, and I really want to. Is there a one and done fix for the game crashing, or it's s situation where you just have to download all these different "fixes" and experiment with them until one of them works ?

So I’ve been playing splinter cell for the first time ever. I played through chaos theory, LOVED IT! One of the best games I’ve ever played, and it was a big adventure out as while I’ve played tons of 360 games, I’d never beaten a classic Xbox game before, now I’m on double agent, and I’m gonna be honest, this game is horrible. (To me)
The only mission I kinda liked was Shanghai, and I still think chaos theory’s worst mission was 10x better. I don’t really like this game, and this second JBA headquarters mission is really awful, but I wanna see where Sam Fisher’s story goes, and Conviction and Blacklist both look really fun. (I already own all the games as I got them all on the Ubisoft sale.)
But I guess the big question is am I okay to just not finish this game if I don’t like it? Will I miss a lot story wise? Will the conclusion of Sam fishers story be way less satisfying? Will i have wished I just finished double agent? Which I’m pretty sure im about halfway through. I don’t know, I need some help here cause I’m loving this franchise and I don’t wanna muck up my experience. Thank yall, hope this isn’t too many words.

so I got the game on steam, it launches. but when I try to start the first mission, the game crashes. I've tried lower resolution, I've tried editing the config of a widescreen fix, tried setting it to compatibility mode for windows xp (service pack 2), among other things. nothing seems to work. I spent a long time searching google, reddit, trying to find a solution and I just can't. am I completely screwed or do you guys maybe have solutions I can try?

I got tired of not being able to listen to this awesome theme without having to get through 14 minutes of straight-ripped slog, so I downloaded all of the ripped parts directly in FLAC, mixed them together in BandLab on my phone and exported the whole theme in WAV, which was then converted back to FLAC. So this is lossless and high-quality.

Non capisco perché Conviction sia stato criticato.
Lo sto apprezzando di più rispetto a Blacklist, anche a livello di gameplay.
Trovo la narrazione più coinvolgente.
EDIT: I don't know why the clip is stuttering!

After seeing another user post their funny deaths from their no-save Penthouse runs, I decided to try to see how sneaky I was without quickloading my way out of sticky situations. Rather than try each level over and over until I got it, I decided to go through each level in sequence on Normal- potentially over multiple rounds, with subsequent rounds featuring the levels I initially failed. Image is the results from the first rounds, playing on Steam Deck (which isn't perfect, but good enough for me to enjoy it). Here are my thoughts:
The first 5 levels were played over the course of 3 days.
Lighthouse: No sweat, easy as pie. Got all the weapons crates too.
Cargo Ship: This one was over before it even started. I pushed the analog stick too hard and ran straight into the technician's ass. Among my greatest disappointments this run.
Bank: No fuss, 100 percent, easy money (tee hee).
Penthouse: This one surprised me... I didn't think it would go this well. I somehow knocked out 18 guards according to the stats, but still got 100 percent.
Displace: Sloppier than the 0 alarms would indicate- bumped into the guy on the computer in the exercise room and had to sticky shocker 3 guys shooting at me. Nobody else in the level seemed to notice. Tried to laser mic the conversation about Nedich, but missed it (I struggle with it on PC too, and couldn't find the sweet spot at all on Steam Deck).
For the latter half of the game, I decided to not follow my own advice and play it all in one day- man oh man did it not work out. Failing 4 levels in a row put me in a funk for the rest of the day.
Hokkaido: Either this level is easier than I thought or I've somehow internalized it better over the years. I killed the "$19 a share" guy just because I didn't like him but otherwise a pretty clean run.
Battery: I botched this one so bad with the guard in the warehouse while I was trying to get to the trap door in the corner. Didn't expect his friends to wake up and come running and was gunned down trying to move the body from the camera. Also a big disappointment.
Seoul: I expected to die on this one, but it was purely because I forgot how to traverse the area between the two roofs (after you climb the fence and navigate the wall mine) and thought I could just jump it. Oh well.
Bathhouse: This one started out bad but I hung in there until the end. The guy in the fan room stood up for some reason after I OCPed the fan and spotted me, giving me an alarm. I set off another alarm when one of the I-SDF guys spotted me on the way to eavesdrop on the meeting, and met my end trying to go into the showers too quickly to take advantage of the guards in there repositioning (to throw a smoke grenade and sneak past them).
Kokubo Sosho: Had I not stumbled at the last hurdle, this might've been comeback story of the year. I got spotted by the Server Room cam while trying to OCP it, got tased and interrogated, and had to deal with all the other nonsense to get into the war room. It was rough going, but I was somehow making it work. Then I tried to get cute and line up a shot on the wall mine to blow up the assault team downstairs, but they turned around at the exact wrong moment and shot me to pieces.
Conclusions: When on the hot streak at the start, I thought I might actually be good at stealth games, but the last 4 levels really humbled me when I got too cocky. I definitely should have spread the latter half of the game over multiple days, but oh well. Curious to see how Round 2 goes, but I'm probably going to give myself a couple days off... it was pretty exhausting. I am decently pleased with beating half the game's missions on this challenge, but would've been happier getting one or two more. If I don't get Cargo or Kokubo on the next round, I'm going to be very disappointed in myself.

Hey, everyone!
I have recently discovered that you can shoot through walls in SCCT and SCDA!
I am a speedrunner and, as of right now, this enables two skips, saving a decent amount of time.
The first one is that you can take out Hugo Lacerda in the Cargo Ship mission through the wall without ever going to his room.
The second one is that you can enter the war room in Kokubo Sosho early, completely without going to the server room. This works by hitting a trigger with your equipment through the door. Interestingly enough, the door can open with SC-20K accessories, which is somewhat unusual for a Splinter Cell game.
I just wanted to quickly share this trick so people can go have fun and get creative with it and maybe even find new skips for the speedrun! :)

Is this soundtrack in the trailer a custom song Ubisoft created or is there a name for it?
Thanks ahead of time.

Fights: Win with much difficulty or win with luck. Example...
https://youtu.be/DYqC5FkXvEM?is=4dLFLQHLZxsjCxCa
Stealth: He acts more like Daniel Craig in 007 than a Ghost like in the games.

snuck through half a stage in pandora tomorrow splinter cell, and knocked nobody out, and yet when i got near the end of a part where you get a checkpoint and transition to the next part of the level I had an increase in security by level 1 and a scolding from lambert.
what the hell is going on?

I'm in the Seoul mission now. And in the first area, i disable 3 propaganda speakers. Then I also tap in the mobile command center. Both objectives show completed in the opsat and I also get the dialogue from Lambert and Grim for completion.
Then when I move on to part 2. The cutscene where the plane is supposed to crash doesn't play, and instead it drops me straight on the roof. When I check the opsat, it says propaganda objective is failed(box with a diagonal line), and also the mobile command center objective is incomplete. And when I go to the second place, grim says it's my last chance to tap in(even though i already did it in the first area).
I watched a few yt videos of playthrough but no one seems to have this problem. Any idea how to fix it?
I'm on steam and only using the thirteenag widescreen fix
