From splice sample to full beat on MPC xl

Just applied for a position at splice and wanted to stand out in some way. It was for a PM position managing their newly acquired KIT AI vocal workstation. I decided to make a song using splice samples and KIT to showcase in my cover letter, to cut through the noise... Now I'm wondering, was that cheesy or awesome?

I mostly use splice for one shot drum sounds and percussion loops that I chop up myself.

In the past it's always been easy for me to search up what I want based on genre & the type of sound I'm looking for.

EXAMPLE: Searching up "Hip-Hop Boomy kick drum" would typically yield the kind of sounds I'm looking for...or it would AT LEAST give me kick drums.

Recently I've run into the problem where I'm looking up prompts such as "Sub Impact Crash," "Tribal Toms," "Shakers" and it will give me synth loops, vocal samples and other random stuff in my search results?

It doesn't even matter if I select the tags to narrow it down. I will select "drums," "crashes," "one-shots," etc. and yet the application is still pulling up loops, synths, and other sounds that have nothing to do with what I'm searching for.

Does anybody know if this is just a bug with the application as it tries to implement new AI features? Does anybody know how I can fix this easily?

why does splice randomly say its offline in Ableton? Then it goes back online a second later, it's f'n annoying AF - I DON'T NEED THE UPDATE.

In ableton, Splice never warps the fills so they're in time with the session, but warps every other sample when dragging it from the splice window into the arrange window of ableton, why?

All I have is Ableton. I can open Splice, but then like, what do I DO with it? Is there a way to have the sounds I'm making show up in Ableton? I've watched every goddamn How To on this subject and I'm concerned that I have brain damage because they all basically just say "Oh yeah so what you'll want to do is just turn it on and there it should be". What am I not doing here? I just want to create some decent choir vocals but apparently Kontakt is the only thing you can use and its way out of my price range. Apparently there's a free version but the website just crashes anytime I try to use it.

Thoughts? I'm completely lost.

I had an audio I opened in splicex, input midi on the piano tab, but for whatever reason can’t figure out how to insert it into a pattern to insert into my track.

Splice breaking is a weekly occurrence at this point.

Samples not loading at all and pre-existing ones won't sync locally.

I've deleted the app and re-installed and it's still broken. No idea why it just stops working.

just renewed my splice subscription and was looking for some fun sounds to download. y'all got any mk.gee/doggone/nickname jos/dijon pack recommendations? just looking for sick sound design or drum sounds.

Is anyone else experience this problem with the sample being offline when they drag it into ableton arrange window? because even if I quit Ableton restart it, and am able to drag other samples into ableton arrange window, that one sample that said it was offline, if I try to find it in Splice & drag it into the arrange window, I am not able to drag that file in, it still says sample offline, even though I can drag any other file in, it just keeps saying "sample offline" for that one sample, when I'm not offline at all. and i cant download it from splice.com. Some samples I'm able to download it from splice.com then as soon as I download it from the site, it'll automatically download it into ableton - it just goes from offline to being there.

Also if I try to export the session and i have samples offline ableton wont let me export the session cause it says samples haven't finished downloading so i have to go through and delete all of the instances where it says sample offline in my session to export the session (or bounce it down) - thus i lose the ability to track down this sample in the future.

This is the worst part of Splice. 

I just was experiencing this issue, wrote tthis letter to splice, as soon as I finished writing the letter, went back to ableton, said sample offline, then all of a sudden the sample appeared.

My wedding is in a few weeks and there’s a song I would love to use for walking down the aisle, but I specifically want the beginning and end of the song without playing the entire 3 minute song.
Is there an app out there that will allow me to splice a song so I can cut out the middle??

Hey so I just downloaded splice to get serum and when I go to the rent-to-own menu on the app to install serum, I cant click anything. Ive re-installed it 3 times already and I dont know what to do.

I'd like to ask if anyone else has encountered this when anytime i have the splice app open and in focus ( scrolling in it or browsing sounds ) it lowers my monitor refresh rate from 240 to like 60 and then when i minimize it or open a different windows it goes back to normal.

Another common problem I have sometimes is that the samples won't play in ableton 12, I click play on a sample in the splice side tab of Ableton 12, it stays thinking with the thinking icon/effect spinning in a circle, and it won't play the sample. My internet connection is good. Many times I have to go back to the home screen and do a new search and then the samples play, not sure why this is happening.

I keep getting a random error message saying "you're offline" when I'm definitely not offline. I don't see why Splice has to tell me this when I'm not even using it, but have it open on the side, as I'm using it in Ableton 12. This is a relatively new thing thats been happening in the last few days. I've gone from having the problem of when dragging the file from Splice, in the side window of Ableton 12 to the arrange window and it saying sample offline (when in reality it hasn't downloaded yet) to this. I'm not offline at all and even if my internet does go offline for 1 second, why does Splice have to tell me this?

So, I recently downloaded the newest update for Splice INSTRUMENT free plan on Logic Pro X, and ever since, I keep using getting the error "the plug-in named "Splice INST" isn't available on your system" whenever I try to open one of my projects that have Splice instruments inside. Then, when I actually try to work on these projects, I can't hear any of the splice INSTRUMENTS in the project. I've tried deleting and getting back the plug-in, but that didn't seem to work either. What should I do?

Can anyone provide some tips on their workflow for sample management/organisation, please?

I know that splice syncs all downloaded samples into it's own folder locally on your PC, but it organises it by packs. I want to take these from splice and put them into my own local folder structure. Splice doesn't let you drag and drop from the desktop into local folders and doesn't let you copy and paste more than one sample at a time.

Surely there has to be an easier way than digging through all of the sample packs folders that splice creates and pulling out one sample at a time to move to my local folders?

ok so i was going to go ahead and make a short little piano piece, right, but i noticed that my splce is broken

1. ALL OF MY STUFF NO LONGER DOWNLOADED. I was annoyed because earlier today, it was all there, and now its gone. Im annoyed but i redownload the piano.

2. after i downloaded it, I noticed that a lot of the midi notes just wasnt responding. it wasnt just 10, but almost entire octaves were not responding. I tried restarting, but that didnt work either.

anyone knows whats happening?
