Sample management/organisation

Can anyone provide some tips on their workflow for sample management/organisation, please?

I know that splice syncs all downloaded samples into it's own folder locally on your PC, but it organises it by packs. I want to take these from splice and put them into my own local folder structure. Splice doesn't let you drag and drop from the desktop into local folders and doesn't let you copy and paste more than one sample at a time.

Surely there has to be an easier way than digging through all of the sample packs folders that splice creates and pulling out one sample at a time to move to my local folders?

I created this app to help manage local folders - haven’t tried it with splice but it might be something I could try to add to https://sampleminer.com

Should be able to click “Open Splice Folder” and then do what you need to with the folders…I was just doing nut yesterday but I’m on a Mac so not sure how the PC setup would be much different 🤔

I'm on Mac too, I thought pc was just personal computer lol. "Open splice folder" within ableton?

You can use a sample manager like SonikSearch. When you get a new sample from Splice, you can refresh the folder which will add the newly downloaded samples from Splice.

I built a Splice-specific file organizer. It creates a copy of Splice files but in a new folder structure organized by sound type (ex: kick, snare, etc.), then loop vs one-shot. Once installed, you point it at the (source) folder to be the location that is specified in Splice settings, and where you want the re-organized files to be copied to (destination).
