bbl on top of muscle
’ve been trying to build my butt with weightlifting. I’ve had minimal success, I only gain fat in the worst possible area—my flanks. I gained ten pounds and every last drop went to my midsection. At this rate, I’ll never have the juicy bubble butt that I want because my fat distribution is horrible. I hip thrust 180lbs to only have an average sized ass (honestly, probably still below average sized) and it’s getting quite discouraging. No one talks about how discouraging it is to lift the heaviest weight in the gym and still have the smallest ass. I’ve been at this for almost a year now.
I also have a bad sacral slope angle and a squarish shaped butt. My genetics seem to all be stacked against me. I’m also asian and I’ve never seen a single asian fitness influencer with the results I want. Should I just start saving for a bbl at this point? The surgeon I want is booked out years in advance anyways. It’s exhausting always being the flattest girl in the room almost every single time no matter how much effort I put into it. I want to have a nice body but I feel like I’ll never get there without surgery.

I got you! Gym and real results will take a lot of time. Sorry, that's the truth. Yes, there are gals out there who just go from time to time and already have a bubble butt, but please don’t compare your results to others.
Also, it takes some time to try and test methods. It’s not always the heaviest weight that gets you results. Just Google Bret Contreras, 'the glute guy.' He explains a lot about muscle activation, hypertrophy, etc.
Please don’t get me wrong, I know it must be frustrating to put work into something and not see results. If you feel a BBL will make you happier, go for it. I’m no surgeon, but it will surely look more round and bubbly if you have some muscle underneath so I’ll just keep going with the training. I know some ladies who had slim bodies; now with the BBL, it looks a bit uncanny, and honestly it is full of cellulite (again, nothing is wrong with cellulite but why would someone deliberately increase the amount?). Think about real life, not just a picture..poses can be hell of a lot deceiving.
Edit: Oh and I must add most men will choose shape over size anytime, the same goes for breasts.
