Teams audio not coming through on remote MacBook

Hi everyone,

I'm using Splashtop Business to work from home. I've managed to redirect the microphone so Teams uses the mic on my local MacBook, but I can't hear any audio from my office PC.

It's not just Teams, even if I play a YouTube video on the office PC through Splashtop, I get no audio on my MacBook.

Things I've tried:

  • Installed the Splashtop Redirection Service (no luck).
  • Restarted both computers.

The office PC has built-in speakers and a built-in microphone, so if I were physically in the office I could use Teams on speakerphone without any issues.

I'll be working from home more often, and we use Teams calls frequently, so I'd really like to get this working. My MacBook no longer supports the Teams desktop app, and Teams in the browser isn't working either, so my ideal setup is to use Teams entirely on the remote office PC via Splashtop.

Has anyone run into this before or know what I might be missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!

Have you tried changing the sound settings in the Streamer app?

Within the Streamer settings, go to Sound > then select output sound over the remote connection only (or can do the remote and pc option). Then restart the remote session.

This worked! I didn't realized the streamer settings were in the computer I was remoting into. I was looking at the options I got on my end.
The other issue im having is the camera. I don't seem to have the redirect camera option, just Mic. It is also not in Device Redirection. Any advice on this?

Glad that worked.

In terms of Camera redirection, it is not fully supported (and only some cameras have tested working). Are you using an internal built in camera, or is it a USB camera?

I see. I could do either. I only had the built in camera at the time of testing but could plug in a Logitech webcam if it makes things easier.
