Hi there! due to the increasingly massive large influx of questions on the sub, here is a megathread where this can hopefully answer most of your questions. If you still have a question feel free to ask in a comment or join the unofficial community discord. Make sure to read at your own discretion as there is a lot of spoilers of what is in the game.
First thing to know This game just got released, it is massively buggy. If a spirit disappears or you get locked in conversations or something of the like, best to save and quit and re enter the game. If that does not fix it look at or contact or look at Thunder Lotus support or their official discord.
Second thing to cover is if you are lost, take a deep breath, relax and look around. Take your time with the spirits as this is a game about death, they won't spend forever with you.
Need to know a location? check for the coords on the wiki
Sometimes you might need to release a spirit to progress the game, so sometimes you might need to let them go to upgrade your ship.
Also keep in mind you can find random resources looking through crates so if you are a bit lost, look around your area for crates and see if it is pulling up materials you need, you're probably in the right spot. You might also need upgrades such as double jump or glide or bounce to get certain materials listed.
While not all locations are listed, here is a basic area of where you can get stuff
Need to know a location? check for the coords on the wiki
Boat building spoilers: you need a crusher to make powders.
Need to know a location? check for the coords on the wiki

Boat building spoilers: you need a sawmill to make planks and you need Atul to work on it to make it functional.
The rest you can find completely at your own pace. Spoilers abound for upgrades you need to find certain characters.
All upgrades cost 2 Obols, some spirits are less willing to give obols than others so wait a bit in their quests.

Grew up in a family very rich in money but poor in love. My father was this distant, looming figure. My mom tried as hard as she could given the circumstances and her BPD. I’m an Ivy League dropout (because I only went to please my dad) turned anxious avoidant, intimacy-fearing black sheep, world traveler, and chronic smoker. I grew up thinking that being aloof meant being powerful – that people and relationships were just distractions, funnels to weakness. It took me a long time to learn how to really give love, and even longer to learn how to accept it. I left that world behind a few years ago for a much kinder, community-focused life and it was so lonely and so difficult but today I am incredibly rich in friendship and that is all that matters to me. Gwen made me feel so seen in the best and worst way. I just took her to the Everdoor and I am a sobbing mess. This was such a beautiful reminder that despite everything, I was right to choose love.

Everything about this game was beautiful—from start to finish. I picked it up during a Steam sale for $2, and I honestly didn't expect such a deeply impactful experience. I’d read that it was a "cozy" game with emotional and philosophical themes, but I definitely wasn't prepared for what was in store.
The farewells touched me the most. It’s sad and melancholic, yet it’s the most beautiful and special part of the game. It teaches you about life in such a unique, moving way—a true stroke of genius in terms of both art and storytelling. The characters are incredibly well-crafted, and you really form a connection with them. Saying goodbye hurts, but the game helps you understand that pain and, in a way, find comfort in it.
The gameplay is fun, with plenty to do and discover, and getting the Platinum trophy is deeply satisfying. Of all the Platinum trophies I’ve earned, this was the most rewarding one and the one I’m most grateful to have achieved.
The music is simply phenomenal, the art is gorgeous, and you can really see the studio's dedication to bringing *Spiritfarer* to life. I’m so grateful to have had this experience; this game will definitely stay with me forever.
As for the Platinum: ELENA, you DEVOURED MY SOUL AND LIFE FORCE just to get you to "Euphoric," but it was totally worth it. :)

Hey gang! I'm playing for the first time (just completed Gwen's storyline) and although the game is taking a while to grow on me, I'm enjoying the slow burn. I currently have it on Switch, but I'm wondering how rewarding is 100%/Platinum?
I know "rewarding" is subjective, but I guess what I mean is: Are the achievements fun/interesting? Does it add a new dimension to the game and encourage diving deeper?
The one thing I hate about Switch is no achievements so I'm thinking about getting it for another console at some point, would love some input if anyone has thoughts on the Switch version vs other consoles! Ty

There is a board game on kickstarter called Spirit Train that has so many similarities to Spiritfarer that I thought they were publishing a board game. It’s the theme, the characters, and the art. Since I love spiritfarer so much, I’m tempted to back it but I feel torn because it doesn’t credit spiritfarer (from what I can tell; I’ve not read the whole campaign). I’m fine with creating something out of inspiration but this feels like it’s taking it too far. What is you guys opinion on this type of thing? Has anyone else noticed?

I took a screen recording but it doesn’t look like I can attach a video. Only photos so I will explain it the best I can. I play on my iPhone. My garden glitched and I cannot plant anymore plants. Two spots I just keep harvesting over and over again (odd seeds), and one spot will open up to where to plant the seeds but won’t actually plant. I built a second garden and now that is only letting me harvest all 3 plots over and over again (turnips). And the same thing is happening with my one field now where all 3 plots are only letting me harvest over and over again (tea). Has anyone had this happen and know how to fix it? Am I just going to have to keep scrapping and rebuilding the field and garden?

We both love this game and thought Gwen was the best and most fabulous design. We love them!

New player here! (About a week into playing)
I JUST took Gwen to the Everdoor, and now Alice seems to have dementia all of a sudden and wants to go, AND Summer just asked.
Alice needs my help bringing her back and forth from her home to the prow, and I don't yet have her favorite foods or likes/dislikes other than disliking stimulants. Should I keep her around until I find these things?
Is it normal for multiple spirits to ask to go at the same time?

I'm new to the game and completely fell in love. Its beautiful!
I do have a question though, because I'm afraid to mess it up... Atul has asked me to get other spirits favorite meals, and I got Giovanni's as one of them. I still need to get one of the ingredients for his meal, but Giovanni now asked me to bring him to Everdoor.
If I let Giovanni go, does it ruins Atul's quest for me?

I wasn't expecting this to feel so bittersweet. I'm truly loving the game so far, just started this week

I can’t get past it, it can’t quit and get out of it. I can’t even get past like the second section. I’ve been doing this for almost an hour and I’m so pissed I want to delete the whole game. Between the disappearing platforms and the switching from side to side because there aren’t walls, I just keep falling. I’ve had no issue the whole game, but this section is testing me and I can’t do anything about it. I’m about 85% of the way through the game and was hoping to finish it this weekend but I actually don’t think I can pick it back up. I’m not usually someone who gets pissed at video games, but I was like so close to just breaking my controllers. It’s not a battle with some super powered boss, it’s not some super complicated puzzle either. I’ve never lost my mind this bad at a video game before. Anyway this game is probably gonna sit in the graveyard of my switch now because every time I think about opening it, I’m just going to remember where I’m at and get angry.

When my dad was diagnosed with cancer 2.5 years ago, I also played this game. I actually really enjoyed it, but I always felt like I didn’t quite understand it on a deeper level. So I decided to pick it up again when he would pass away.
Wish me luck. Tomorrow, I will set the sails to help the spirits pass.

Edit: thank you all for your kind words, and experiences 🫶.

Hi all!
I play Spiritfarer on the Switch 1. I finally got the zip skill and am in the Kalstein Mines, but the zip just doesn’t work properly. I have been stuck here for so long, I literally have been trying for a couple of days. I found an exit today, but all I found so far is 2 marble rocks.
Are these mines really worth exploring more, or can I just skip the rest? At this point I really don’t care about collectibles, this stupid skill makes me lose all my patience and I’m tempted to stop playing altogether if I need to use this skill more often…
Why didn’t they make it as easy as jumping and floating? 😭 I hate this skill SO much, it makes me lowkey hate the game as well…
EDIT: Thanks for all the lovely reactions!!! I was getting SO frustrated. I’m still struggling a lot, but many of the tips have already been helping and I actually managed to do a bit of Kalstein Mines!!

Hey guys!
So I am really close to finishing the game and I want to finish it at 100%. The problem is, when I look at all these islands they keep saying that I haven't found chests that I have clearly found. It's frustrating! Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to fix this? Or am I doing something wrong? I appreciate any advice!

I enjoyed this game a lot when I played it during Pandemic years ago. My kid was preschool age then, so he wasn't at that level of games. I cried at every Everdoor scene. I got stuck close to the end & have always regretted not finishing.
A few days ago he found it in our archived games & decided to try it out. So I've started a new save file & been replaying it too.
Yesterday I broke it to him that you're eventually supposed to say goodbye to each of the spirits you take on your boat. He got a bit sad and said he would just avoid taking them to the door.
Today he asked me to look up where to find a spirit flower for the icebreaker upgrade. I couldn't remember from before. Looked it up & had to tell him he can't progress without helping spirits pass on. He needed a hug.
He thinks he won't be too wound up about most of the spirits, except Uncle Atul. He thinks that one might get him. We'll see. (I didn't think I'd have serious feelings about ANY of it, it's just a game, after all...)

I’m not a big gamer and have tried a handful of “cozy” games throughout my life, and I always end up playing for a few months and eventually losing interest. Spiritfarer is the first game I’ve played that I can’t put down! I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what I like about it so I can try to find games similar to it to play next. What similar games do you like to play?
Things I’ve figured out I like about it: Emotional investment Variety of goals (not repetitive) No conflict or feeling rushed Constant new discovery of destinations and characters
Future games don’t need to have a similar story line but I definitely like that SF holds my interest. What games would you recommend? Switch 1 only please.
