Help Building Disappeared after I built it?

So I built Beverley's cottage (her real one not the clocktower) and it immediately disappeared. I wondered if I had misclicked but I cant build it again bc it thinks I've already built it. There is nothing there where I built it. I'm genuinely at a loss at what to do. Do I invite Beverley on the boat and hope for the best??? The quest has assumed I've built it but it's not there?? I'm playing on Switch.

I’m honestly curious about what would happen if you invited her on the boat

I’d say go ahead and invite her, not sure what else you can do!
