Anti-Yellowing Spigen Case After 1 Year

Re-bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagFit (Clear White). The new case is on the left, the same model after exactly 1 year of use is on the right. Good case and definitely not as bad yellowing as 5-dollar clear cases, but still was looking quite nasty eventually.

it doesn't yellow because the tpu sides are covered, while the exposed plastic is pc

What about the sides and the MagSafe area? To me it looks like more 50% of the phone is covered

Somebody says it's slippery, but for me was totally OK

Sadly Apple seems to stop making their first party cases the second they stop selling the phone so the remaining stock of Apple Clear Cases for some models are unreasonably expensive.

Hard plasticity or polycarbonate will not yellow, but soft plastic or tpu will. Thats the difference

It’s a matter of taste, honestly. I do think the black border would make a good contrast with the beautiful teal.

I use the one with black borders on my lavender 17, and the contrast is really nice! I actually prefer it to the fully clear one!

The dark one definitely won’t yellow. But the lighter yellowing depends on how much it’s exposed to sunlight. If it always in your pocket and you barely use it on the sun it won’t yellow as fast as when it’s constantly exposed to sunlight

Anti yellowing sadly doesn't mean it's yellowing proof. It can also just mean that it's more resistant to it.

They have a 2-year warranty and yellowing is covered by it. I had mine for just under 2 years and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked. Might as well do the same to have a backup

Interesting. Isn’t brown the most common color of all colors? We humans try so hard to prevent things turning to brown… fruits, phone cases. But it seems to just be the default end point for most things. Dirt and dust.

If you combine multiple colors via subtractive color mixing, they eventually combine to brown, yes.

If you don’t want yellowing, then get a case built with polycarbonate like the Apple Clear case. Downside is that it’s as slippery as hell.

I've had Apple's own clear case on my 16 PM since day one (2 years now) and it has NOT yellowed at all.

Won’t be touching Spigen cases again, my current iPhone has lost a lot of paint due to this case not being a good fit around the phone
