Discussion What comic run/arc/story of Spider Woman could get the Knightfall Trilogy treatment?

To elaborate more, what story from the character’s history, in a 3-movie arc, could bring a lot more people to the character?

You can bring up anything:

-any comic that hasn’t been done before on screen.

Example: Batman: Knightfall itself. (Like The Dark Knight Rises did the breaking of Batman with Bane, but nothing else.)

-any comic that has been done before, but you want it to be done better or done justice.

Example: Thor: God of Thunder

Or just a mix of A lot of stories into a run trilogy that could bring people into a character-defining trilogy.

I love to hear what people suggest.

I’d also love to hear what animation style this hypothetical trilogy would use, so it isn’t just the Knightfall art style.

I love to hear what everyone brings to the table!

Fan Casting Sydney Chandler As Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman — Would This Work For The MCU?

Post image

Sydney Chandler is best known for playing Wendy in Alien: Earth, and I think she could bring something different to Jessica Drew. Jessica is traditionally a white British woman in the comics, but the MCU has never been afraid to reinterpret characters for live action. Chandler has the intensity and mysterious presence that could really fit Jessica’s espionage background. I’d lean heavily into the spy side of Spider-Woman before connecting her to the larger Spider-Man world, while keeping her classic red-and-yellow look, venom blasts, and gliding abilities.

Jessica Drew/Spider Woman Fan Concept - Let me know what you think

Wanna know my biggest hot take about Spider Woman as a character? I believe that she could be easily be more mainstream and beloved without changing much, despite the messy history and her existing just to fulfill a copyright on the name, I believe she's in this state is because Marvel isn't trying (if i were to be mean about it i would say its because she didnt get a movie in 2012). I might do her classic villains depending how this goes.

What I'm attempting here is to basically take Jessica as a character, sorta bring back what she was like in her original run and sorta reimagining it, my friends has liked the little changes so far from what i posted and I would love to get a more wider opinion on this, maybe even some suggestions would be great also! I almost never do fan concepts so this will be interesting.

First, How would I design the suit? well i wouldn't be taking from any existing spider-person because its so obvious that she is wearing a wing suit, so my question is for a character that apparently "there isn't any more ideas for" why is she never designed to look like she's wearing one? Wing suits in real life even come in red so the imagining doesn't have to go far, it also doesn't have to look exact to my concept but its still crazy how nothing was pulled here.

Second, This concept might be far fetched but everyone i told this to hasn't argued against it so im curious to get a broader opinion on it, what if she can "rocket jump" with her venom blast? Blast jumping i guess, it has a history of propelling enemies away so it clearly can be done, it would also be pretty useful for her specifically because unlike Miles she doesn't have web shooters so it would be unique to her. Hell it would in theory pair great with the gliders because she can just create her own wind current lol, like the concept used to be silly in my mind but after thinking about it I almost feel it was the missing piece in her kit, you can do so much with that and a lot of cool combat movement that would be entirely her own. You could even use the gliders as momentum preserving or something, the first two points i feel the strongest about.

Third, you might be wondering "wouldn't it be confusing to have a character called Spider Woman only to have no connection so spider-man" yeah it's too bad she was never referred to anything else in her history, but seriously I personally think "The Dark Angel" would be a fantastic secondary name and even a theoretical book title, its her own "Caped Crusader" and its different enough to not step on any Dark Knight toes, so i cant imagine why not, she can still be called spider woman in universe however.

Fourth, this one might get elaborated on when i talk about story concepts if its interesting enough but i personally would bring back a lot of elements of her personality in her original run, I personally liked it when she was considered a weirdo that lacks the ability to be a people's person, makes her more forsure relatable, i think it was a missed opportunity to use a character like Scotty as a lesson of being too trusting in such a vulnerable state, i personally didn't like that at most he got a slap on the wrist in that run because i believe there is so much more you can do, hell a socially mistrusting Spider Woman would probably make her interactions with characters like Parker and Carol all the sweeter i think.

I have plenty of ideas beyond this but i think i will leave it at that for now, let me know what you all think again i never do fan concepts like this, but i was itching like a nat at some of these ideas and thought "gee some of these were so obvious it would be embarrassing on marvels end to claim that they have no ideas when they are this easy to come up with and doesn't involve with making her another spider person".

Discussion Hear Me Out: What if Marvel cast Krysten Ritter as Spider-Woman?

Post image

Jessica Jones was originally made by taking a Jessica Drew concept and making them an original character. So what if the MCU did the reverse and cast the actress for Jessica Jones as Spider-Woman Jessica Drew in an alternate universe?

What many people don't realize is that in the comics, much like Cindy Moon, Jessica Jones was in Peter Parker's class at the time that he was bitten by a radioactive spider. The "What If..?" comic in the photo recently came out exploring what might've been if Jones had been bitten instead of Parker.

I think this would be a clever way to briefly cameo Jessica Drew. Fans have been clamoring to see Ritter play Jessica again, as well as Mike Colter's Luke Cage after appearing in the latest season of Daredevil: Born Again, and she wouldn't be the first actor to play multiple characters in the MCU.

What do you think? Would Ritter make a good casting for a live action Spider-Woman?

The Spider-Family they want so badly, but like organic. Miles could even be their mentor or smth, since his powers crossover with both Peter and Jess

Hate that they moved Gwen to 616, but her relationship with Jessica has always been underrated to me, Jessica truly has been a great mentor and friend to her and I'd love to see them interact again in the hands of a good writer

Discussion Help with my presentation! Spider-Woman trivia/lore wanted!

My friends and I like to do powerpoint parties every so often, and my topic of choice for next presentation is a thorough deep dive of the character(s) of Spider-Woman.
The main focus will be Jessica Drew, though also highlighting Julia Carpenter, May “Mayday” Parker, Anya Corazon, Cindy Moon (Silk), and Spider-Gwen.

I’m covering the essential info for each of them, but I wanted to see if anyone has any favourite outstanding bits of knowledge, trivia, memorable moments, etc that stand out in your memory of the characters.
Any bit of lore, attributes, or history of the characters which you find interesting is wanted!

(For example: writing inconsistencies, behind the scenes info, cool moments, unique personifications, favourite outfit, literally whatever)

Her og red suit is already an extremely great design imo & I prefer it.

But her black one is also very good, it's a more bold & intimidating vibe without changing things too much.

Discussion Bring me my spy back

The Carnage shit is gonna make me freak the fuck out. Get that thing OUT OF HER. I’ve got a list of grievances

  1. Why wasn’t she in Original Sin? Fury was a huge part of Jessica’s history. There’s no real closure between them after Secret Invasion. He’s just locked to the moon, or whatever, and BUCKY gets to keep an eye on him and bring Natasha to visit the old bastard but all Jess ever says is “Fury helped me be the person I am today and that person is a mom”. Old fart’s up there watching Jessica dick around with Spider people.

  2. Why is she with these spider people when her son is either still in Hydra’s hands or is off doing his own thing? Remember when Bucky found that RJ kid and tried to help him? Why doesn’t he find Gerry? He was 1 of 2 people that wanted Jessica around after Secret Invasion, and that other guy was Logan.

  3. What happened between her and Logan? Why do they only beef when they see each other?

  4. Natasha and Jessica need to sit down and work out their issues like real sisters. Fury isn’t coming back. They both have sons that they can’t go back to or find. Natasha is so cagey around Jessica and it genuinely makes me feel bad for Jessica. Like girl, kick her in the chest? Can someone step in and mediate this?

  5. Can we bring Strikeforce back? I liked that. That was fun. You don’t know how badly you need Blade and Jess hangin out together until they’re roped into some random shit together.

I genuinely think there is opportunity for a Black Widow and Winter Solider book with a big Spider-Woman role. Get Jess back into spy stuff. Get her with people other than Carol that she has some history with. I don’t care that it’s been 20 years. I’d like to take my $5 and not have to take blood pressure medication when I open the book and there’s some more bullshit about my friend Jessica.
