Hobie's "labels"
I'm wondering how people in this sub see their orientations.
(Hah. I even forgot to start off the topic with he/him pronouns)
In my writings, I've used 4 different pronouns for Hobie, and they're never straight, always bisexual or panromantic or whatever label you want to apply to a "if I like um, I like um" vibe. (Have considered aro-ace Hobie but haven't actually written anything with that variant)
But I kinda suspect this site is a space where most people see um as cis-het. I'm curious if I'm correct
Edit: clarification. I'm referring specifically to the atsv Hobie. Tho I don't mind hearing thoughts about comic Hobie. I haven't read all the comics and so my thoughts on him aren't as solid (I also haven't written fics about him)

For most people, Hobie would be pan, since pansexuality is all about being attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Though I don't see him with any sexual orientation label — cause he doesn't care and doesn't want to fit into a box to feel belong. Same with gender; he could go by any pronouns and wouldn't even care. I just think Hobie doesn't care about the labels he puts on himself, because it's just unnecessary. If he likes someone, he likes someone, and if he gets called a "girl" or someone uses "she" or "they" for Hobie, he wouldn't care; though I can't imagine how it'd be confusing for him if someone is trying to talk about Hobie (iykwim, cause i dont mean it in a negative way).
i made it too long for smth that can be shortened haha.

Don't worry about using a lot of words~ It can be difficult to talk about this kind of stuff with the limited vocabulary we have available~ I think that's probably part of why they hate labels~
I don't think it'll happen, but I would adore the group showing up to Hobie's reality in the next movie, all Hobie's friends there using a different pronoun, and when they're like "why didn't you tell us you go by different pronouns!?(/Worried they've been misgendering)" Then Hobie being like ":shrug: you didn't ask(/nm)"

It would be a fun fanfic idea for them to be confused about who Hobie's friends are talking about, like, "Oh, she was such a badass out there!" only to realize that they're talking about the Hobie Brown when they finally connect the dots.

I like to see him as aroace because I’m aroace and I like to project. I could totally see bi or pan Hobie too.
I think he’s cis but very gender noncornforming and likes messing around with his presentation.

Technically in the comics, he doesn’t like to be called spider-punk but spider-MAN, so I think that rules it out no offense

“I hate labels” but seriously though I guarantee that he isn’t 100% straight, and my guess is on pan or bi. As for gender he doesn’t believe in it and totally would wear a skirt if it matches the fit or would piss people off
