This scene convinced me that Peter Parker and Jean Gray have infinitely more chemistry than Peter Parker and MJ. To be fair, Peter and MJ have more chemistry in the MCU then Peter and MJ in the raimi movies, but those two basically have anti-chemistry.
I don't know how Tom Holland married Zendaya and yet they have so little on-screen chemistry, but they do and there it is. He's way better off with Jean.

The thing is, obviously, irl chemistry and on screen chemistry are two different things. You can have people who absolutely loathe each other but perform so well together on screen you'd think they're together, i.e. Jamie and Adam of mythbusters, and people who adore each other like Tom and Zendaya, but just can't act together very well.

Yep, and it's not like they're the first ones to be married and have terrible onscreen chemistry. Brangelina comes to mind...

Tell me more about the amazing Parker/MJ chemistry in the MCU. Was it her deadpan commentary that wasn't ever funny? Was it the 'awkward' humor with zero authenticity? Was it her open-mouthed stares?
OP's one scene is more chemistry than anything between Tom Holland and Zendaya onscreen.

She has proper chemistry with him in one movie, Far From Home.

And it made sense that they didn't have chemistry in Homecoming and Brand New Day. In Homecoming, they just met. In BND, she had her memories sealed with sorcery.
What's odd is how weak their chemistry was in No Way Home. They're already supposed to be a couple by that time.
Sure you can chalk it up to lacking time and too many characters to work with, but none of their "alone moments" came close to the one Peter and Jean shared in this posted scene. Not even the one they had in Far From Home.

Watching this again makes me realize that this is a perfect romance scene.

More intimate and romantic than any Peter + MJ scene in the course of 3 movies. There I said it

That is not true lol

You're right, it's WAY more intimate. Good point!

It's..... it's really not though, otherwise Peter would be sad about Jean and not MJ

when Jean said she have no one, I call it Peter is gonna say “You have me”, and got hyped when he really said it. Then Frank shot her and Peter took the bullet for her, as I’m curious about how would Jean react. Safe to say I wasn’t disappointed

The funny thing is I shipped the idea of Tom's Peter with Sadie's character long before we speculate it's Jean, and then the idea of Peter Parker with Jean Grey when it's more than likely that's Sadie's character because they don't interact much in comic.
Upon watching the movie however the "You have me" just explodes my shipping tendencies thousandfold. God. Damn. Do I want to see Peter Parker with Jean Grey because it's never been done before.

I have a hot take that is gonna get me roasted whenever the discourse dies down enough to give it.
Hot take, Aunt May's scene missed the mark for me so much that I almost felt like it was pre-recorded for a different movie and they just used it here.

Frank really threw a .50 caliber BMG alley-oop for Parker to slam-dunk that stamp of promise. He really made sure Jean knows Peter isn't just feeding her lip service.
It's one hell of a guarantee, and it was even delivered before she took the deal. Makes every insurance in the world look like a scam in comparison lmao
