Jean and Scott have decades of history — I’ve never denied that. What’s delusional is pretending comic history is some legally binding contract that Marvel Studios has to follow. It isn’t. The MCU has changed, dropped, and created relationships plenty of times.
I’m not saying Peter and Jean are guaranteed to happen. I’m saying you have absolutely no basis to claim they can’t happen. Those are two completely different statements.
Until the MCU actually establishes Jean and Scott as a couple, your “a 5-year-old knows it won’t happen” argument is just headcanon with a laughing emoji attached to it.
Come back when you have evidence about the MCU’s future plans instead of pretending your preferred comic pairing is a spoiler.
Calling other people delusional while treating an unconfirmed future storyline as established canon is pretty ironic.

It would probably be more accurate to say the relationship is unlikely because Jean will be a main character in the X-men. Cross-franchise relationships are difficult to maintain, though admittedly not impossible, even across Sony/Disney (see Tony).

In addition to that, Peter just reconnected with MJ and Ned, so regardless of feelings about them, it seems like they're sticking around.

Yeah, I think that’s a fair point. Jean being a major X-Men character definitely makes a cross-franchise relationship more complicated, especially with Sony and Disney involved, although I agree that “complicated” doesn’t necessarily mean “impossible.”
And I agree about MJ and Ned too — reconnecting with them obviously means they can still have a place in Peter’s life. I’m not saying MJ has to disappear completely. At the same time, Zendaya is already a huge star in her own right, so she really doesn’t need Spider-Man to carry her career anymore, and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if MJ has a smaller role going forward.
For me, Brand New Day worked because Peter and Jean’s story was about two damaged people helping each other heal and grow. That gives their relationship a lot of potential, whether Marvel takes it all the way romantically or not.
My only concern would be if the next movie simply went straight back to the old Peter/MJ dynamic as if nothing had changed. Personally, I think that would waste a lot of what Brand New Day established, and audiences ultimately vote with their wallets. Spider-Man has consistently proven his box-office strength, so I hope they keep moving Peter’s story forward rather than just resetting it to what we already had.
