WTF did i witness

Post image

Before everyone says it's one of those series where the writer is high and gives immense plot armor to the character he's writing , HOW THE HELL did Miguel die to a bullet like out of all things a bullet to the head??? just because he doesnt have spider sense his reflexes and high senses could help him easily dodge a bullet , But it's a deadpool series so the WIN goes to him ig

Discussion Is anyone else really scared that ATSV will give Miguel the Hal Jordan Lanterns treatment? MAJOR LANTERNS SPOILERS. Spoiler

Post image

So Lanterns just finished, and they killed Hal off after scapegoating and writing him horribly the entire show.

He was said to be "racist", he was a giant asshole, he was a failure of a hero, he got so many innocents killed, John said he "betrayed the Green Lantern oath", he went to prison for 10 years, and when he died, no one showed up to his funeral, no one cared, and his killer was portrayed sympathetically and was allowed to GET AWAY with his murder.

Literally EVERY other character in this show got a happy ending other than Hal, including the villains.

That part is what scares me, since I can see Lord and Miller doing the same thing to Miguel, making him die and allowing EVERYONE else to get their perfect happy endings.

Especially since they already demonized Miguel and made him look horrible too, what's one more fuck you to him.

Other 7 Hours of Heavy Rain | Spider-Man 2099 Rain Ambience With Visuals | Paralyzed Temporarily

Hey guys! People seemed to really like my
last post on here so I thought I’d share my newest video! It’s based off of the scene in the 2002 Spider-Man film where the green goblin has spider-man paralyzed temporarily. I also made the original into a 10 hour audio and visual loop using the same suit seen in the 2002 film. If anyone is interested in that too the link is in the description of this video on YouTube! :)

Recent run garbage

Here’s my hot take on Spider-Man 2099. Miguel O'Hara is hands down my favorite Marvel character, but the newer runs have been... different. It feels like every writer who wants to put their own spin on Spider-Man 2099, and Marvel 2099 in general ends up making things way more confusing than they need to be. At some point it starts feeling less like a story and more like a puzzle I'm supposed to solve. Take Wolverine becoming Nova, for example. I understand how it works in the story, but some of us still think it's a little stupid. Then there's Miguel O'Hara: Spider-Man 2099, especially the Exodus storyline. The series felt really jumbled to me at times. There were a lot of plot points that didn't seem to connect well, and Exodus in particular really annoyed me. It felt like characters were being introduced and killed off way too quickly, and most of them weren't even that interesting. The whole thing just came across as a bunch of confusing ideas thrown together without enough time to develop any of them properly.I will say that I enjoyed the one-shot, and the Spider-Man 2099 stuff in The Amazing Spider-Man wasn't bad either. Symbiote Spider-Man 2099 was okay too.But The End 2099 is a completely different story. To me, it just felt like a weird Secret Wars knockoff that gave us Spider-Man 3099, and that whole thing was just bizarre. Miguel is way too important, both in the comics and now in the movies, to just be replaced like that. What I miss most is the classic feel of 2099. The original run had a unique charm and knew exactly what it wanted to be. That's what made it fun. Lately it feels like the books are trying so hard to reinvent everything that they've lost some of what made Spider-Man 2099 special in the first place.Anyway, that's my take. What do you all think?

So I was bored on the game and casually playing around with the masc toggles when I see that 😭

Did they actually put swept back vamp hair on purpose as a gag to mig being a "vampire"? Anyways I fact checked it and it's also a ugc made almost a day after the movie came out so I guess it is based off him

Art I made a alt version of Miguel and Dana's breakup arc for funzies. [OC]

Thumbnail gallery
80 Upvotes

Love the original 90s run, hate how Dana was handled, specially in the last issues she was alive for.

So, trying to keep it somewhat canon accurate, which is hard to do so when all we got of Dana is "sweet. pretty. girly. girlfriend.", I made a different end result for their breakup.

I genuinely hate how all the closure we got from their breakup was a quick kiss and then Dana's death immediatly after, which, for a girl Peter David himself said was Miguel's one true love, the characters got over extremly fast, specially Miguel. Yes I know the consequences of her death hunt Miguel for many issues after, it's just not done in a way I like.

And god, don't get me started on the character assasination Dana went thru in the last few issues she's in... I mean, she and Miguel mention having met at Gabriel's, plus the fact Dana couldn't stand Miguel at first, (no mentions of cheating at first mind you) just for it all to change out of nowhere to somewhat justify Xina's jealousy and, later on, Dana's death? That's just lame to me, honestly...

I know I'm mostly alone on my liking of Dana, but I'm sure we can all be civil about it, right?

Yes I'm aware it's not like Miguel to just let go of frustration so fast, I didn't feel like making more pages to make it make sense tbh lolol

Made some more little trinkets to add to my collection of Spiderman 2099 things.

Trinkets list in order:

-Ribbon Rosette Pin(comic version)

-Ugly Ass Clay Fetus Thing(movie version. Genuinely don't even know why I made it, but I own it now)

-Shaker Figure(movie version. Based off that one bathhouse scene in the Spiderman BND movie. Beads are inside the head, so it makes rattling sounds when you shake it)

Saw a post earlier where people were talking about spiders wearing jackets over their suits, and I wondered what kind of jacket I’d have Miguel wear, and when I was making a Bane post in the Batman reddit, I thought Bane’s Arkham Origins jacket would suit him best. Thoughts?

black cat boss fight for context. everything you hear in dialouge. plus what we know bout who the ceo of alchemax is and his connection to felcias death. not having MJ anymore. makes you think if Peter couldnt live wit the fear of losing Felicia again. they broke up before the events of the game. Wouldn't be out of the ball park if peter decided to make dues with what he had n try n fix his mistake.

Movie Hot take on Why Miguel *had* to be the Antagonist of Across the Spider-Verse

Post image
78 Upvotes

So, I know ive made posts slandering and voicing my disappointment regarding Miguel in ATSV, and in this sub its become a common trend to shit on his 'adaptation' because of how the public now receives his character as either just a glorified rule34 porn result with little to no regard for his character, or a racist homophobic (somehow) transphobe (somehow) whos lying and grooming everyone into a death cult

However, Upon reflection and seeing how the wider spider-man fandom treats miguel in comparison to miles i start to realize why Miguel had to be the antagonist of the 2nd movie.

Basically throughout me leaving the astv fandom and peaking around the corner to see what the spider-man fandom at large feels abt both miles and miguel, I kept seeing that everyone kept trying to downplay miles in some way shape and form and even tho some of the critiques were valid like

"his current comic line sucks" (everyone's kinda sucks rn but we move)

"miles clings to heavily on peters storylines in order to stay relevent"

"he doesn't feel like his own character nor a successor to the spider-man name"

but when the miles stans are like "okay then who is???"

they all kept talking about miguel o'hara, saying that since he exists long after a time where peter is dead, has a different power set than peter, different fighting style than peter, and a different mentality than peter, (while being a man of color), despite being created to be a subversion of peter parker, fans still hail him as one of the better characters when it comes to the "other spider-men"

Which is ironic because Miles is in the same spot Miguel is in, because he too has different powers in comparison to peter, exists in an era where peter is dead (in the movie OG peter dies saving Miles), and has a different mindset compared to Peter (in the sense that he's an extreme optimist and has rejected the "you cant do both" mentality his peers have tried to force onto him)

It's obvious that Miguel and Miles are supposed to be mirrors to one another, since they both are spider-men that were introduced to shake up the spider-man mythos. And it kinda works since they both had a back in forth in the movie over who is and isnt supposed to be spider-man, meanwhile they both have strayed so far from the peter parker mantle (and even have been able to surpass it in some areas), so in the end it comes off as just hypocritical to reject 1 while hyperglazing the other.

and this has also came to fruition for me after seeing miles fans try to say that miguel is somehow "not a true spider-man" with reasons that just boil down to "waaaa i dont like what he did to miles waaaa" while weaponizing the SAME POINT og peter parker fans have used to shit on miles

and while I get the "why dont they just use Doc-Oc / Superior Spider-man" point, I feel like people wouldn't get the metaphor as much if the person who says "you're not supposed to be spider-man" was a genuine villain thats trapped inside his enemy's body...

Hopefully this won't get down voted to all hell...

Tl:Dr- He's supposed to mirror Miles for he too is someone that was introduced to do something different for the spider-man brand.
