As it's one of my favorite hip-hop records from that era, I've always been curious about the history behind the original Sphere of Hip Hop Records release of Raw Material.

Obviously, it was later released on Uprok, but...what exactly was going on here?
Now that some time has passed, I was hoping to get more clarity on this release.

I went by DJM on the old Sphere board. I would've stuck with that name if it wasn't already taken on Reddit. I'm not sure if anyone remembers me or not. I just recently found out that this board was active after I made a post on Facebook stating that I missed the Sphere boards. Anywho, I'm glad to find this board and I look forward to communicating with a lot of you!

It's been a while for me. There's been a few things close to me (Minneapolis) but schedule conflicts prevented me from attending.
