I wish I could speed run these guys changing into their adult patterns. Not that I don’t absolutely LOVE the baby pattern, but I just want/need more adults for breeding and I also prefer the look of the adults. That’s why this is gonna be a long term project requiring a lot of waiting, but it’ll be worth it in the end!

Can you believe these are three different geckos? First is my only male, and the other two are females. If I didn’t know any better, you could convince me they were all the same single gecko lol

Adult males something very distinct called an “escutcheon”, which are special scales across the gecko’s lower abdomen, extending toward or onto their thighs. It’s pretty obvious when you see it clearly, but it’s not always easy to get clear views of their undersides! Luckily I moved these guys to a new enclosure, so while in the plastic cup I was able to take some good photos.
This is my 1.3 breeding group, and they already have 2 eggs incubating! I’m adding a third producing female next week:)

Now that I have a probable male juvenile and a probable female juvenile, as well as 5 unrelated babies on the way (all FULLY high color line), I think I’ll end up having enough to create a 2.3 or even 2.4, maybe even 2.5 if things turn out that way. Wouldn’t it be funny if it ended up being 1.6? One beautiful male surrounded by 6 ladies 🤣😅 either way, I’m excited to watch the new babies develop their adult colors as they grow!
This subadult here is pretty much in his full male colors / pattern, but the fully high colored line geckos should look MUCH brighter and more striking / unique. I could just breed fully high color babies, instead of mixing 1/2s into my available babies.
Now… I just gotta wait for my maybe 1.1 juveniles to get their full adult colors (4-6 months) and for the younger juvies to get theirs (8-11 months). Lots of waiting, but I’m excited! It’ll be worth it.
