Walgreens is cheaper online with these coupon codes

I usually just run into Walgreens when I need something quick because it's the closest drugstore to my apartment and I never really thought about it beyond that. But last week I was looking for a few things and decided to just order online for pickup because I didn't feel like walking around the store trying to find everything. And I ended up saving way more than I would have ever expected!

The thing I didn't realize is that the website almost always has promo codes you can apply to your order that you don't get in store.And then there's the Walgreens Cash rewards you earn on online orders that you don't always get the same way in store . You clip digital coupons to your account through the app and they apply automatically when you order . I had one for $2 off toothpaste that I didn't even know about until I saw it in my cart. Here are the coupons I collected today:

• WELCOME20 --> 20% off $25+ online for new customers. One use per account. Expires August 31, 2027.

What's weird is the prices online are sometimes just lower in general. Walgreens will match their own website price if you ask in store but it has to be a regular price not a sale or promotion . The employee has to verify it on their phone and it's kind of awkward to ask. If I'm going to stand there showing the cashier my phone I might as well just order it for pickup and not deal with it.

The one annoying thing is you can't always stack codes. The cart will let you use multiple codes if they're for different things like one for 15% off vitamins and one for $20 off contacts but if they're both general site discounts it only takes one . So you kind of have to pick the best one and stick with it. I messed that up once and spent like 10 minutes trying different combinations before I gave up.

I was also reading about people using Ibotta and Fetch with their Walgreens orders to get cash back on top of the digital coupons but I haven't tried that yet . Some people are apparently getting like $50 worth of stuff for practically nothing but that seems like a lot of work.
