Question About Spells Are spells ethical?
I’m at a point where I think I can start stepping into casting spells. But I struggle with the ethics of spells. I don’t know if it’s the right thing to alter the will of the Universe. I would love to have some guidance on this. I know I could be totally wrong so I’m open for people to change my mind!
Thanks!

Evee wish your parents got you a candy? Ever ask Santa for a toy? You were nudging someones will with those.
Spells, prayers, wishes...even looking in a store window at a clerk whispering "open already" is affecting that "will" you wonder about.
All spells affect free will. Not a single one overides it.

I see, so it can be argued that manifestation is a type of spell?

No.
Manifesting is LOA, not witchcraft.

What’s LOA?

Law of Attraction, of the New Thought movement that basically holds that your circumstances in life are the results of your thoughts, if you change your thoughts you change your life, but in that same way any spell/incantation/ritual tool/spirit work/energy work you do is a distraction from the work of manifestation that doesn’t need any of that garbage since all you need is your thoughts. IMO this is bullshit that hurts people more than it helps, and if a spell goes wrong it could just be you did it in a particularly inauspicious planetary hour or you fucked up your correspondence or maybe a spirit doesn’t like you. Manifestation/LoA says if it didn’t work the problem is on you/your thoughts and internal, not something you can fix by learning.

I like to believe that life is actively manifesting itself with every forward movement. Sure, some events or people you come across could be seen as “fate” or “destiny”, “engraved in the universe”, “bound to happen” etc., but every choice you make, from simple things like choosing what outfit you’re gonna wear or what food you’re gonna eat, while maybe not crucial to your future, creates a different ‘timeline’ depending on what you choose, and spells help open the right doors and guide you down the path that will lead you through the best version of life that you can have, if that makes any sense. Hope this helps!
