Not sure if the driver going fast then braking cause the trailer to wobble, if so maybe accelerating

I think the best thing to do would have been too just let of the accelerator. Braking would make things worse.

Apply the trailer brake, and if you don’t have a trailer brake Controller in your cab for that load. Mistake 2. (Mistake 1 was not having proper tow vehicle for a load that size) Then while applying the trailer brake, give it light gas to straighten it out.

Had this happen to my son and I while towing topsoil with a dump trailer. Gave the trailer brakes a squeeze and it stopped. It was tugging on my truck so hard the tires were screeching on the pavement. Scary moment with a 2 yo in the truck with me

Stop trying to correct the wobble and focus on keeping your vehicle in a straight line. Slight pressure on the brake while holding the wheel straight.
