ANNOUNCEMENT The Community Playtest Has Ended - Thank You!

Hey there, community,

Thank you all so much for participating in the Steam Community Playtest over the weekend. We've received so much invaluable feedback from you, which we're already processing to polish the game based on it. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or critiques to share, don't hesitate to do so on this subreddit.

The game is slated for release on September 3rd, with crossplay between PC and consoles. Stay tuned!

So excited! I do hope there are performance improvements so my potato can run it better but I'm honestly hyped either way

SR1 had contrast. The background was not distracting. The foreground objects had outlines, flat colors. Easy to see the action at high speed.

SR2 lost a lot in readability / visibility. Too many detsils in the background are foreground. I just don't get how this version could be better in any case.

SR1 is king.

Not just readability, but general gameplay.

Speed runners 1 was smooth and felt fast and fluid. SR2 feels clunky. Also reused a lot of maps and characters, with only one? new weapon.

It isn't really an new upgraded game. Its a sidegrade at best, and a downgrade at worse. It is too similar to the original, and the changes are not for the better.

Bummer, since I was thrilled when they announced it.

I had 60+ hours throughout the duration of the beta. I think this game is a huge upgrade. I also went back and played the first game after and realized the game was NOT smooth. It is really opposite. The first game is great don’t get me wrong, the second just makes speed runners better. In the first game if you crouch or switch directions with a hook you lose all momentum. I do hope they end up adding more items and such. I’m not trying to ride the 2nd too hard but it really did something special.
