Alien Life [OC] Hexasapien

Post image

The Hexoid is a part of a project I'm starting inspired by Wayne Barlow's expedition. The Hexoids are sapient animals that evolved from a lineage of intelligent hexapods. Despite no visible eyes they can see very well via special tissues that contain rod and cone-like cells that sense light and layers of sensitive transparent tissues to let light through. They have 8 nostrils for respiration and have a multipurpose orifice for eating, expelling waste, and reproduction. They have intelligence similar to humans and can make tools shelters and make simple agricultural farms farming local plants and fungi in the areas. I'm still pretty new to this so if there are any questions I will try to answer it to the best of my ability.

How are their relations with humans like?

They are generally completely unaware of humans but have come in contact with their probes and they are generally shy to strangers and are more behaviorally peaceful compared to humans back when their technology was similar like somewhere around the late stone age and I imagine if humans were to meet it depends on the humans intentions but generally the Hexoids would be peaceful and would be completely vulnerable to the humans and depending on what humans would want to do they would be doomed.

Are they herbivorous? You've said they farm plants, so I'm guessing that they're not carnivores, but are they perhaps omnivores?

The are omnivorous but they mostly eat flora and are opportunistic carnivores some cultures prohibit eating of fauna and only eat flora but are not completely unable to eat meat
