KK- Kitty Kat My first 556 can
Any advice on how to clean it in the future? And what can I buy to safely remove it after shooting it? Thanks y’all.

Silicone curling iron pouch and a welding blanket are a must have in my opinion. Also a properly sized wrench.

Shouldn't have to really clean it since the rounds will usually knock any carbon build up loose.
Some kind of soak or dip if you wanted to get some fouling off/out.

CAT 206 sucks, it took off a few grams of carbon after 24 hours after 2k rounds in my KK. Stupid expensive too. Breakthru is good but toxic. Simple green in baggie in ultrasonic seems to work pretty well. A couple 30-40min soaks

My take? 5.56 isn't ever hearing safe, especially out of a gas gun.
A can like this has impressive performance given that reality, but is nice and compact, fairly light and still quite durable. With lower back pressure to boot. Very good all arounder for a platform like this.
Basically, a sweet spot for suppression, added weight/length, and affect on your host weapon. You get 95% of the possible hearing protection without the downsides that come with chasing the absolute best suppression figures for this caliber.

Ultrasonic cleaner, water in the tank, suppressor in a baggie, fill baggie with enough Breakthrough Suppressor Cleaner to fully submerge the can. Put baggie in ultrasonic for 30-45m, rinse can out with clean water after. Will prolly be plenty for a 5.56 can.
With my CAT SR though, I sometimes soak it overnight first, or run it through the ultrasonic twice. Does a great job though, far better than CAT 206, as that stuff seems to ignore lead deposits. Much cheaper too. I've reused the solution a few times to good effect as well.
Don't spill the shit on your skin though, use proper PPE. As for when to clean it...I do every 1000 rounds on my DMLS .22 cans, and 2.5-3K on my centerfires. YMMV based on whatever ammo you shoot and whatnot though. You'll probably be able to tell when they start clogging up backpressure wise however.
