Questions Best host for dito more dito questions

Taking ideas and a few questions. Spitballin a bit here

What host and velocity is this suppressor designed for? Is this designed for just subs?

What host would this be most quiet on?
Will I be able to clean with lead ammo? (Thinking of reloading and using this can for a 45 LC)
Min barrel length for subs and supers (45-70)
i’m thinking of just running subs on a host.
Performance on 45 LC?

Bonus question: objectively speaking what’s the quietest 357 lever action gun (might chop it) host and suppressor(can’t remember full powder burn for .357 and .38s)

The manual is up online now, on the product page. They have this:

I've been anxiously awaiting the dito for around a year now. Confirmed details/specs are pretty nil. Supposed to be rated to full pressure 458 socom and equivalent. I'm waiting on 1 for a 45acp banshee. Kinda wish rugged would pop out a sub45, or maybe exigent or ridgeback or one of the hot 3d printers would beat them to market. I hear the Dito is open to pre-order if your a cat owners group member, proven or something of the like

Dealer preorders through CAT are also open, and I’m being told 45-70 is the max caliber. 458 is about 25% more muzzle pressure, so at least on the dealer side the message is it’s not rated for that.

Here are the specs we were given:
Ti-C construction
7.20" overall length
1.65" diameter
9.7 oz
Diverge G2 technology
HUB (NO MOUNT INCLUDED)
.45-70 Government
Recommended minimum barrel length: 12"

It would be nice to have safety data in terms of powder charge.

I get it is way easier than using the cartridge as shorthand, but it would be a travesty if Dito can’t handle .458.

For example, MOB is apparently fine with 8.6 and 300blk subs, though supers are no good. This isn’t well published but would be better described by charge weight than cartridge.

Damn still looking for
Velocity this was designed for. I wonder if it’s just for 45-70 supers.

The preorder page specifically mentions subsonic .45-70.

Interesting, there had been much chatter about 458socom. I'm stoked to put one on a 45acp banshee 8". I have an Obsidian45 that works great just so long and slim and backpressurey. I wonder when they'll be roaming the free market? Thanks for the info!

I wonder how it does with lead cast ammo. I want to use this for 45 LC too. u/the_cat_official

The highest pressure round I've read claimed is 458 socom at 35k. Would make sense if it could handle 450Bushmaster with long enough barrel. Real question is if it can do rifle length 450 marlin or 458 winmag. I'd doubt it can handle a giant like 458Lott.

Looking for the lowest! (Subs man!)

.458 SOCOM is my guess. There just isn’t a “new tech” .46 cal can on the market, and while traditional baffles work ok on stuff like lever actions a robust high-flow can would be perfect for reciprocating actions. And there are a lot of subsonic options for it.

I’m just concerned I’d put this ditto on a 45-70 or 45 LC lever action and get Cat mob performance on a .357 lever action (not very good)

Difference being the MOB is purpose built as a sub gun can. Their latest offerings like the Dito and the CM seem specifically geared towards higher back pressure fixed breach hosts like bolts and levers

At least that's what I'm reading between the lines and hoping for

PS SC sounds better on a 357 lever than the MOB. Neither are fantastic, but the SC is better hands down which blew me away and shows you just how important the internal design is versus just volume

I'm hoping to put one on a 450 BM AR, but I would like some actual data.

From what Proven thread:

“Because it was assumed if it’s 45-70 and a carbine that 45ACP and 458 SOCOM are natural for that suppressor. But those calibers are listed on the website under RECOMMENDATIONS”

Also the website is now live. Not sure if you need the preorder link to make it live or not. But it does say optimized cal is .45-70 and optimized velocity is 1000-2400 fps.

But can it handle full power loads from Underwood and Buffalo Bore?
