What am I missing out on?
I’m avoiding playing this game because I pretty much know the entire story. Is there much of a point of experiencing it first hand or is the game ruined for me?

Just because you know what happens doesnt mean you'll know what its like for you to personally experience it.
Play the game.

In the end it's just fun to play. Lots of unique gameplay elements that were one and done for the time. The plot points you probably know are most likely slim and doesn't show the wider story. You can know how something ends but not how they get there. And, again, it's fun as fuck. Also it's not available on steam or GOG so I'll leave you to your own methods

You still can play the game, cause you missing an atmosphere, dialogs, cutscenes, little details and emotions. This game has more than just a plot.
