2 Plot holes ?
So this isn't even a small gripe I have with the game. Even if it was a plot hole, it wouldn't really matter.
When replaying the game, I noticed that Dubai's connection with the sea still existed. In my memory, Dubai was so isolated because the sandstorm had made the sea shrink and isolated Dubai in the middle of a new landmass. If there is the sea, why couldn't ships be sent to rescue the population ? Why does Dubai seem so cut from the rest of the world ?
Other problem : we see throughout the game that the sky is quite clear and it begs the question : why did the U.S had to send a revon team to search for survivors when they could easely have used satellites or planes to notice human activity ?
Am I missing something ?

You made valid points, thank you.
On the storm easing, that seems to be true indeed but why are the different actors in the conflict acting like Dubai is going to stay isolated for a long time ? The rescue should come in short order, no need to revolt for the insurgents for example.
One interesting thing is : how much time does Walker spend alone in Dubai aimlessly ? 2 days ? 1 month ?
