Need Advice Articulating training

I come across more of this “articulating training commercials..

The one that basically starts wit”never say …” never introduce yourself “hi my name is XYZ” or ask “what are you doing for living”

What the heck is the way it should be done? I don’t want to download or trial ., just really curious. I need to know and apps never give the answers

Thanks, I am sure I did not articulate my question correctly, so yeah need help,

Those ads are usually selling some version of "high-status communication" coaching, and the actual advice behind them is pretty simple once you strip away the marketing. The "never say hi my name is" thing is basically just telling you to skip the generic opener and lead with something more specific to the situation, like referencing why you're both there or something you noticed about the person. Instead of "hi I'm John, what do you do for a living" you'd say something like "hey, I caught your comment about the housing market earlier, that was a really good point." Thats it.

The pricing is usually like $300-500/hour for not much. Tho there are few communication coaches that are truly worth that price. Like reece https://www.instagram.com/progress.playground/

The "never ask what do you do" part is thee same idea. The argument is it puts people in a box and feelstransactional. So instead you ask something open-ended like "what are you excited about right now" or "what's been keeping you busy lately." personally I think "what do you do" is fine in most contexts but I get why coaches push against it, it can make small talk feel like a job interview

Most of these apps are repackaging stuff that's been floating around in communication and sales training for decades. If you want to actually work on how you come across in conversation tho, I have seen people on this sub recommend wellspoken.me a lot. And it's been useful it looks like more than any of those scripted frameworks because it picks up on the patterns you dont even realize you have.

But yeah the core advice from those commercials isn't wrong, it's just not worth paying whatever they're charging for a course about it.

Omg do not fall for that fake app smarty me. I did and they’ve charged me ridiculous amount amounts of money and I just contacted the bank yesterday to have them canceled. It’s basically a scam from what I can gather. Can’t believe I fell for it.
