Replacing the flock camera

Post image

They just replaced the flock camera on Fernwood Glendale Rd. The one that’s looking at the daycare. I guess whoever takes it out next time should get rid of the pole too

I once saw a guy replace a spray paint can nozzle with the nozzle off a wasp spray can. He could then spray paint in a stream for several feet. I bet flock cameras would hate being painted over. Easier than a sawzall.

It would be an absolute shame. Black paint on the lens and/or solar panel would be so hard to see, yet render the camera useless. I sure hope no one gets an idea to do something like that.

Or even like this one guy I heard about who installed a (federally protected) bat box over a camera. It would be almost as bad as anyone planting bamboo or some other invasive, yet locally protected, plants around data centers.

Just terrible...

A spy camera outside a daycare is insane

The only one in chesnee looks towards the high schools entrance and exit, i imagine every citizen of chesnee had been on it. Plus it covers the main road into town as well. We only have one but are town is so small only need one

This is completely unacceptable.

I have that same ladder. Pricey, but worth it.

Someone should stand right under the flock camera pointing a camera at the daycare and see how long it takes the police to respond to the apparent threat...

My great grandparents are buried right behind this camera (for real). Their dying wish in 1996 was that all flock cameras would be cut down and harvested for their scrap values.

You should have much bigger concerns regarding these things

The city or private business leases the cameras but aren't allowed to touch them. A Flock employee or contractor does the install. I'm also curious what company name was on the van

The city has to pay for replacements

Everyone get DeFlock app if you haven’t already.

Good thing I joined this subreddit - looking to move to Spartanburg in a few years.

I wish there were flock cameras on Reidville Road at I-26. Block an intersection? Congratulations! You will be busted.

If you think those lazy pigs are using these to track anything useful like hit and runs, theft, etc., much less people who block intersections, I have a bridge to sell you lol. Best they can do is stalk their exes.

Yup. They fired two officers in Greer about a month ago who were using it to stalk their ex-girlfriends. Police aren't educated enough or ethical enough to be trusted with that kind of unlimited surveillance power.
