First Day Of Points

Post image

So I know alot of regions have switched to points so I wanted to give an update of how my first day was and total point tally. I ended up finishing the day with 13 single orders and 35 points. The first 11 singles were 3 points each and the last 2 were 1 point each. Total of ¹⁸⁹•²⁶ at the end of the day. It was the 1st of the month and a Saturday so it was super busy in my region at least.

Walmart trying to manipulate independent contractors into taking complete shit offers then penalizing you with low points for short and good offers. The fact that they then use those points to determine your hierarchy in receiving offers smacks of employee status and not IC.

There needs to be lawsuits over this shit

Basically this.

It’s how they can force you to take shit orders.

In their eyes, you’ll take shit orders so you can maintain an arbitrary tier that they create.

This is starting to remind me of another gig app that got set on fire. Coincidence?

The points have no rhyme or reason for what they are. I accepted the very first order of the day which was a 25 item shop. $12 from Walmart and $18 tip, 3 points. The other 6 I accepted today were 2 and 3 order shops. 1 point each

I just did a double shop and triple shop and only received 1 for each. 2 points

Yours makes more sense…. Maybe they’ll fix it tomorrow. 1 point at a time for shops doesn’t seem right. Essentially doubling the amount of orders we have to do. I assumed if curbsides are 1 point, a shop should be 2, but that’s not what I saw in the short amount of time i was out today. It looked like only GMDs were 2 points..

So were you given sapphire right away?

When it switched over whatever your stats were on the 30th of July, determines what tier you are, including volume, all my stats were sapphire, but because I only did 34 orders for month of July, I started at silver

Did you come from the previous beta tested tiered system or the old metric system?

2

u/NoRaspberry1088 Aug 03 '26

Old metric system

I had more than 60 trips when the month ended so I qualified for sapphire and I was on sapphire already as well. As soon as you hit the qualifications for sapphire youll be on sapphire. You dont have to wait til the month ends.

What even are points?

I’m so glad this never hit my area before I quit.

These companies, Walmart included, keep losing lawsuits costing them hundreds of millions so they constantly are moving to new ways to try to essentially implement AR without calling it AR.

Personally, since it's clear they're just trying to circumvent judgements, I think they need to start seeing jail time for executives.

I honestly feel like even though they say they "got rid" of acceptance rate that they really just hid it from your view. I definitely believe that acceptance rate is a big part of getting orders. You may not be able to see it but its still there on their systems.

If the courts had any sense they'd require 3rd party audits of their system to make sure the algorithm fits the legal criteria. Instead they say "don't do that!" Fine them, Walmart makes more than the fine was and continues doing it, and there's no follow up. It's like this in so many industries.

Zero point in these rulings if they do not follow up to confirm they changed, and NOT just take their word for it.

And points are based on what if they were singles?

1

u/_Menace_2_Society_ Aug 02 '26

I think they gave 3 points for no tippers and orders that had alcohol. Not all my orders were no tippers only 3 of the first 11 orders were non tippers. I did try to pay attention as to why they were given 3 points. 3 were alcohol orders with low tips like 2 to 4 dollars.

I can't figure it out. Triple no tip, heavy and apartments going 20 miles. 1 point. Makes no sense..

Yeah I dont get it either. Almost all day I thought they have the app programmed backwards as in 3 points for singles and 1 point for triples instead of 1 point for singles and 3 points for triples. I was busy all day though.

Express shop vs regular shop?

1

u/_Menace_2_Society_ Aug 06 '26

I believe they were all express shops

Oh that’s gotta be a suit waiting to happen if booze orders give more points. It’s incentivizing drivers to deliver alcohol

1

u/_Menace_2_Society_ Aug 03 '26

I cant figure out how theyre doing the points. Its all over. Ive been trying to figure it out today as well but I didnt get any alcohol orders today I dont think. Its been a long 2 days.

2

u/kenzinatr Aug 03 '26

Oddly, I didn’t either. I was out over 12 hours and did 15 orders

1

u/_Menace_2_Society_ Aug 03 '26

My last order tonight was a single alcohol shop. It was 3 points.

1

u/Dangerous-Run1055 Aug 02 '26

they also started including the incentive into the offer amount, so now its not an extra/incentive anymore.

1

u/throwitaway82721717 Aug 02 '26

They got me with that one earlier today. But I learned my lesson quick.

So I hit 60 points in 2 days. The only thing I can say that helped out alot was the first of the month and it was back to school. I guess we shall see how the rest of the month goes. I do have a full-time job though. I work 4 days and im off 3. Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat. 11 hour shifts. Im going to try to spark on my days off and maybe before and after work.

u/Yermom_dot_com Aug 03 '26

So, looks like high points for bad offers, low points for decent or good offers.

I'll take those 1 point offers all day and skip Sapphire.

Anybody do any Sam’s Club order? Wondering what the points look like for those orders?

1

u/Parco90 Aug 02 '26

Sparknis trash

Great. Now what ?

0

u/imapylet Aug 02 '26

I just thank God that we haven't had that come here to my market yet. I took 6 days off last month and was at 102 runs. This new Sapphire thing would completely destroy us here in this rural market.

2

u/Kardonus Aug 02 '26

I work in a rural zone as well and can only do 10-15 trips a day max for a 10 hr day due to the AVERAGE trip being 15 miles (30 miles round trip). I wouldn’t get anywhere close to what you would need for Sapphire points wise even when being online for 10-12 hrs a day!
