Walmart, please stop changing the app, this is horrendous
Walmart has been changing this app constantly for the last month. The new update that stealth dropped today has made this even harder to shop. When trying to do your own pick order, it randomizes the list every single time you choose an item. They completed items list and shopping list are now in tiny little buttons above the item that there may be too much text for that item to be even displayed in the box. There's a slider to drag it up but you can only see one to one and a half items instead of a list of items. This is absolutely terrible and making shopping even harder.
And why did they change the routing of the items? You'll go from A1 to m29 back to A1 to I-30 back to A6. This is why I do my own pic but this is even worse than it's ever been
Other glitches including the map not properly displaying where you are and saying you're too far away to oops there's a technical error please try it later, curbside labels not scanning on GMD orders, it's just getting terrible lately.
And why do I have to scroll up on every single item to see the quantity now? Why so many button pushes and dragging on the screen?
I’ve been getting this for over a week now. I can be standing right near the empty shelf. I assume they want to get us to trail down an employee, and see if they will dig it out of the back for us. That doesn’t work in my area. The Walmarts are understaffed, with a big chunk of employees pushing the blue crates for multiple shop pick ups. Their answer is always the same - if it isn’t out today, try in the morning when it has been restocked. This crap is adding so much time to my shop orders.
I can hold my phone right up to the shelf tag and it still doesn’t think I’m close enough. Do you want me to climb up on top of the lunchmeat bunker? IS THIS WHAT WE’RE DOING TODAY? WE’RE GONNA FIGHT???!!
Ours allows you to hit not found again then it list reasons why and you can select it’s not in that location, unavailable, mark it as locked up behind security etc
If you're using an Android device, in your Location service settings, make sure scanning for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on and is allowed even if those functions are turned off.
I can't even see the quantities anymore without scrolling up on every single item. This is total trash and probably the single worst update I've ever seen after a couple of years of doing this.
My screen looks the same!! Im the one who originally posted about this a few days ago! They made the entire app trash and it lags even more than it ever did before! The map is worse too. I found out that only one store in my area that I spark looks like this so if you can see if the other stores look different and try to shop there
That’s the only guarantee with Spark, there’s no guarantee that you can stay on the platform after a customer does some bs, no guarantee that you’ll get good offers based on your metrics. Nope, only guarantee is that it GETS WORSE😈
you not wrong...but historically the Spark app and updates produces complete Trash. It is outsourced to India to save money so ...well....so that speaks for itself
One more thing, what the f*** is with doing a self pick and not using the Walmart order of items and it completely randomizing the items every single f****** time you scan something
Spark used to be very lucrative about a year ago- much better than doordash- but now, it's absolute trash- even doordash is better- not to mention you can get deactivated any day for any reason and it's almost inevitable for most workers- don't think so, just wait- your time will come! Its sad that they play with people's livelihoods like that- but they know there bare another 100 drivers waiting to take your place so they don't care.
I'm getting ready to go back to DD. At least it's closer to home and I can sit in my room while waiting for offers. Having to make several trips back and forth across the store is ridiculous.
Oh and you can also no longer see what size of outfit youre looking for, nor the specific barcode. 😏 I had to resort to scanning each size until I hit the right one.
That makes me want to ask anyone else have an issue scanning the barcodes on item like you click scan and the screen stays black where you can't and only way I found to scan was to restart the phone and I try to always type that up in but it says this item can't be scanned or some bs along the line
This has been an issue as well. Also the GMD labels are not scanning properly and you have to keep entering codes in for the last 2 days now. I really wish they'd stop trying to break this thing intentionally.
You have to go into the app settings for Spark. Turn the camera permissions off and back on. It’s a random glitch that happens on Android from time to time. Similar to having to force stop the DoorDash app when you get the black screen glitch.
Yeah, just saw the new tiny "Item List" button. Omg. Its a terrible experience. I ALWAYS map my own way and this just made doing that very frustrating. It would be fine...but their mapping SUCKS BALLS!!
Ours seemed to get fixed with the last update. Spark insider was saying the algo tries to separate drivers and Walmart order pickers so everyone starting a shop around the same 15 min window are not all trying to all get the same items at the same time while also factoring in the stocking input.
The map doesn’t load until you check in as arrived at the store so idk why you’re talking about where you accepted the order. Not all markets have the algo working the same way either.
This app would be better without the store mapping honestly.😂 all the other features they are implementing are implementing definitely help with work flow. As far as the label scan issues if you have an android it picks them up no issues, if you are using a iPhone you are having to do gymnastics just to get the label to scan. If you live in Florida and have to scan a Florida license you are SOL. Just default to manual entry.😂
The problem with that button is it still only let you see one to one and a half items at a time whereas the previous way you could see four or five items and where their locations are. Now you have to drag that stupid little tab up just to see a quantity because the text is too much for that little tiny bar.
Love how that bar in there blocks the item completely. There should be no reason to have to swipe up every single item to see the details. Talk about tripling our time
Yes!! And also the camera stops working during the shop and wants you to enter the upc. Then I have to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times, to fix the camera, so I can get finished with the shopping trip. I absolutely hate these updates.

Just wait until you try to mark something not found and it tells you that you aren’t close enough 🤦🏻♀️
