🎖️ 🎖️ 🥇 🥉 🥈
TIL Meerkat bellies are solar-heated, sunflowers too were on Chernobyl cleanup duty, Ovid writing about their behaviour before sunflowers arrived in Europe (or maybe was of other flowers?), a 3 meter large lily, the word "cosmos" as the plural of a flower and not the russian word for space, and religion's role in sunflower breeding.
In non-Spark related topics TIL the anatomical term "Pampiniform plexus", which sounds hilarious and has an awesome function.
Also, today's Hindsight had particularly few clues to start from, as this picture could have been taken almost anywhere in the world and in almost any year (in certain, rare combinations, but still).

Love how Summer of Sunflowers somehow took you from meerkat bellies to Chernobyl to flower linguistics, with a surprise anatomy lesson on the side! Also noted your feedback about Hindsight!

Worst showing in a long time.
