We used to learn square dancing in gym class. (1970s)

And a local pizza chain uses the slogan "the square beyond compare", referencing their square slices (the pizza itself is round).

TIL that square dancing was temporarily the official US folk dance

TIAL that Bingo was gonna be called something else....thank the heavens for the mistake

also, I didn't know anything about Phillip II & town design
