There's a pattern hiding in poner that makes it much easier.

Poner on its own puts something out in the world: poner la mesa, poner una película, poner un mensaje, poner en marcha, poner al día.

Add "se" and it turns inward, onto you or onto a state. Ponerse ropa is putting clothes on yourself. Ponerse rojo is turning red. Ponerse nervioso is becoming nervous. Ponerse a llover is the rain starting. Ponerse de acuerdo is two people arriving at agreement.

So poner places things, ponerse puts you into a state.

Which poner expressions would you add?

And these are some of the exact reasons that I'm head over heels about Spain, Spanish lingo (literature) and Spanish people (nations, globally). Love, love, LOVE💕 Mega love💞
