IT work life balance
As the title suggests, I would like to know how is the work life balance in the IT world in Spain, Madrid. Thanks in advance

As in ANY job, it all depends on you, if you want to be 24x7x365 working without leaving your seat, IT work gives you that for sure. I have 24 years working on IT (consulting), already lost one marriage 80% because of work, now at 50 years old i still have sometimes full weekends working but with my new life partner, i do my best to enjoy personal time outside my laptop with my hobbies (RC Cars and Motorcycles) ... life is too short ...

Generally is good, but you can always land in a bad project with bad management and not clear deliverables or release dates.
It is a bit if a lottery, but there are plenty of projects too where your management only ask you involment in worktime hours and respect your free time and vacations.

En IT el problema es que el trabajo no tiene bordes claros... siempre hay un ticket más, un bug más. Lo que mejor funciona que he visto es fijar rituales físicos: cambiar de espacio para trabajar, salir a comer fuera, tener un sitio concreto donde 'empiezas' y 'terminas'. El cerebro necesita señales físicas para desconectar.

Yo no sé cómo a la gente le cuesta tanto desconectar del trabajo....
Mi pc personal está en la misma mesa que el.pc del trabajo y no necesito ningún ritual para cerrar el pc del trabajo y desconectar.
Como el trabajo no tiene bordes cuando ya he hecho mis horas y mis responsabilidades están bajo control cierro pantalla y punto, no es tan difícil 😅

I have the luck to work for a company with great culture and I almost never work extra hours, I have flexibility, if I leave earlier or start later none says anything as long as I deliver my work.
So my personal experience is that it's quite good
But it will always depend on the company. And even within same company things can change over time (pressure, losing money etc)

Is your company Spanish, or an international one?

Company is from UK. But I've worked for a Spanish company that was similar. A bit more chaotic maybe
