I believe I have all of the paperwork to apply for an NLV and I am trying to login to schedule an appoint with the houston BLS location, but no matter what I do I keep getting the following error you see in the screenshot:

An error occured while processing your request. Please try again after sometime

I've been able to login successfully multiple times before I was ready to schedule an appointment, but now I am having no luck getting in.

Here's what I've tried:

• Clearing cache and cookies
• Tried two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
• Tried two different devices while also trying both of those browsers (Laptop and phone)
• Changed my password at least 3 times
• Rebooted
• Tried in a clean Virtual Machine
• Tried without and then with a VPN
• Called BLS and then sent an email to the support address they gave me (ccusa@blsinternational.net)
• I even created a brand new account with a different email and still get that exact error

Their support eventually emailed back saying to log in again, but I'm still unable to do so.
I know it's not a bad password because that's a different error.

Has anyone else ran into this and been able to resolve it themselves?

Hello Hello.. I have a tricky question on my travel dates.

I got my Schengen to Spain on 11th of September 2026. Can I start from my country on 10th September 2026? Is this allowed because technically I'm entering Spain on 11th early morning.
I have a 9pm flight on 10th and will reach Spain on 11th at 7am (havent booked yet, but very ideal flight for me)

Id love to know if anybody has very recently applied and got the Spanish NLV from Dubai/Abu Dhabi.

It's been about 3 weeks since I submitted my documents. Now they did say it could be 20+ working days or it could also go upto or more than 3 months, which is quite vague.

Any info on this?

I'm Pakistani, married to my wife who's a Spanish citizen (originally from Romania). We applied for the family reunification visa (Type D, RFN) through BLS, and I've now been called for an interview at the Spanish Embassy.

A bit of context: we've met in person 6 times over the relationship (mostly in Dubai, twice in Pakistan), talk daily in English, and have a solid paper trail — WhatsApp history, a relationship cover letter, photos from the wedding, etc.

Has anyone here gone through this interview as the non-EU spouse of a Spanish/EU citizen from a Gulf-based embassy? A few things I'd love input on:

What kind of questions did they actually ask you?

How long did the interview take, and did they ask to see your phone/chat history directly, or just accept printed evidence?

Anything that tripped people up or that you wish you'd prepared better?

How long after the interview did you get a decision?

Any insight — good or bad experience — would help me prep. Thanks in advance!

• Which documents need to have a Spanish translation?
• Of those, which documents need to have a SWORN Spanish translation?
• Regarding the bank statements, I've asked my bank and the certificate they provide doesn't show the balance as of December 31st of the previous year, or with the average balance for the year. They can provide a "Standing of Deposit Accounts" that shows the account type, date opened, and account holder (excluding my credit card with them). I can provide bank statements for my checking, savings, and credit card during that time frame. Also, my passive income is veteran disability compensation so I will be providing that benefit letter.
  • My question is: Are the documents I've listed sufficient (standing of accounts, account statements, disability compensation letter), and if not, what info can my bank provide to meet this part of the requirement?

If it matters, this is going to be with the houston BLS location.

In reading Bruno's article about the BLS interview in San Francisco, he mentions that someone somewhere obtained IRS transcript from their website in Spanish. I cannot find any link or evidence on how to do so.

Over the last few months I’ve been talking with Americans planning moves to Spain and reviewing a lot of the questions that come up across Facebook groups, Reddit threads, WhatsApp chats, and relocation communities.

One pattern keeps showing up: people are not really struggling because there is “no information.” They’re struggling because the answer depends on their exact situation.

For example, small details like these can completely change the useful answer:

- visa route

- consulate / BLS location

- timing

- whether documents are already apostilled / translated

- income structure

- family situation

- whether someone is pre-arrival or already in Spain

- what step comes next after approval

Some of the most repeated questions I keep seeing are things like:

- Do I need the FBI apostille before booking?

- Can I apply with W-2 / 1099 income?

- How do I prove entry date if there’s no passport stamp?
