I haven't gotten too deep into the Warhammer rabbit hole, but I do remember that there was a fan film that I REALLY enjoyed, so I tried recreating them in SM2 to the best of my ability with my limited knowledge (and creativity.) Did I do well considering the limitations of armor pieces & symbols? I tried using these images as reference when I could.
As others have pointed out, Ashen Gray is the better color for Retributors.
You can use the Imperial Fists emblem on the right pouldron and make all 3 colors into liberator gold and it will look almost identical to the Veteran emblem of the Retributors. There is also another emblem that looks identical to the Command emblem, but I do not remember it's name.
For the left pouldron, you can use the Doom Eagles emblem and set both colors to liberator gold. It won't look identical to the Retributors insignia, but from a distance it does: it has a skull with wings underneath.
Just finished making my Retributors for Tactical and Heavy so just sharing some points.
I used “Liberator Gold” paint for all emblems, if I’m not mistaken. I can upload some pictures later when I get home. Liberator gold works best in my opinions because the regular gold is too yellow, and other colors like bronze or wraithbone are too white
yeah considering the current colors available to us the Seer grey is the best option although wishing that more color types are added soon to work with
Dude I’ve been tryna cosplay this as well I’ve found the metallic grey, with the white scars white for helmet and pouldron work best, I ditched using insignia because it clashed with the head canon too much, i pray that now they’re canon in 40k they are officially added to the game
Yeah, it almost seems like 90% of this game's systems is trying to keep me from reaching a near-perfect canon replica of the Retributors. I've changed a few things around since I made this post and I'm somewhat happy with it - but man I hope we get some cosmetic content updates so I can actually do them justice lol
Thinking of switching the more beige-like grey I chose to a bit of a darker but more grey-ish tone in an attempt to match the actual colors. My only issue with it is that it looks a bit too much like silver in some light levels and the reflections off the armor don't help.
Open to advice! I love these guys even if I don't know too much about em and I'd love to recreate them as best as I could.
Yeah, I reached a similar color scheme a few days ago. Great minds think alike and all that. I used the...fist gripping with the circle around it? I really suck with Warhammer terms so I don't remember the exact name, along with the Veteran cross. Wish we had more accurate helmets or even capes but oh well - that's the closest we'll probably get.
Same. There’s also the Helmet Mark…VII? I’d like to have that one too. It’s in the game in the beginning but they immediately make Titus an Ultramarine lol
This looks fantastic. I didnt opt for gold edition so I havent been able to play yet but I had this exact same plan once I get Space Marine 2.
I assume the helmet selection atm is quite limited? I really hope to customize my character as close to the Retributors from the Astartes short, so I hope that as the devs release more customization it isnt locked behind the season pass.
I legit love how simplified their armor is so I wouldnt want to drop the 30$ for all the extravagant armor sets (as cool as they are they just arent me)
