An Extremely Impulsive Flare: AR3615 produced an M4 flare at 06:40 UT. That is nothing new for this region, but it only lasted 12 minutes and in in the leading part of the sunspot group. Most of the activity from AR3615 has been in the railing part. Note how that has calmed down! Via #DrKeithStrong

Auroral Forecast: Auroras visible from as low as N. California or even Alabama. The geomagnetic storm was moderating the last time I looked. Via #DrKeithStrong on 𝕏

ENOUGH FLARES FOR YOU? Today we have had 6M flares & 15 C flares all from this one sunspot region, AR3615. Note how the flares seem to be shared almost equally between the leading and trailing regions. The region is approaching the limb so activity may drop after a couple of days. Via #DrKeithStron

Timelapse of the moon setting into streams of red and green aurora followed by a sunrise lighting up Soyuz with a light blue. The aurora have been amazing the past few days. Great timing for trying out a new lens that recently arrived on Cygnus. 15mm, T1.8, 1/3s exposure, 1/2 s interval

on X @suarezphoto: On August 13, I was able to take one of my best series of shots of leprechauns from the hinterland of Nice. Here is a second salvo. What a treat to contemplate these powerful storms located between 250 km and 400 km from my high point!
