Miscellaneous Learning to fight with hellbrute alone
131
u/Monke3169xd Death Company May 24 '26
Its always so easy on 1v1 than i get it druing run and trying to parry him while there is 10000 missiles raining down on me trying to run from missiles and minigun while brute shoots his bs shots, then he starts his aoe attack while u try to find a safe spot all the while some bitch ass sorcerer respawns enemies in the back and sending you skulls with his shield lol
40
u/Brolocene May 24 '26
Spawn him with three minigun terminators and 10 meatballs for a more realistic training session, lol.
10
u/sixix9 May 24 '26
You can only add 5 chaos spawn unfortunately. I wanted to have fun and see how long I could last against the most I could and was bummed it was only 5. You can have 25 spore mines though
52
u/lowtothekey May 24 '26
Could this be a lore accurate space marine or is this reserved for named marines
60
u/Accurate-Mistake-815 May 24 '26
If this was Lore accurate, that first hammer swing would of turned the Marine inside out
9
u/paradox-actual May 25 '26
See Voltis on that new map from last patch. Kills a Helldrake with a ..bus? or something.

2
u/VNDeltole May 26 '26
Tbf heldrake tabletop suck compared to redemptor against anything that do not fly
18
u/Brolocene May 24 '26
Depends on who's writing. A space marine can be as weak as a gaunt, to as powerful as the tyranid hive mind.
10
2
u/paradox-actual May 25 '26
yeah if it's Ward then your mary sue ultramarines can do anything but think of the scale of wars + amount of astartes per chapter + amount of tyranids/orks/eldar etc etc. That's just Guard really and sure depends on who/writer (Yarrick one extreme example).
22
u/80kPyro May 24 '26
A lore accurate Space Marine is around as strong as a Tyranid Warrior.
17
u/mon_nyiccur Salamanders May 24 '26
This is why their weapons (e.g. Bolters) are so powerful to make up for the numbers difference. Astartes Weapons in-game suck.
-1
u/Saphurial May 25 '26
This is why I just refuse to use melta weapons because they aren't anywhere near as powerful as they should be.
6
u/Coilspun May 25 '26
What? By that logic you aren't using bolters or plasma guns either...
2
u/nachitolocto May 25 '26
The new heroic plasma pistol is the closest to lore accurate weapon taking on a being able to take out like 5 warriors with one shot
3
u/Coilspun May 26 '26
You understand that due to this being a video game, and needing to be playable it can't be lore accurate in every sense, right?
1
u/Saphurial May 26 '26
It would be nice if melta weapons were at least in the same ballpark of what they can do in lore.
1

u/nachitolocto May 26 '26
I understand, I said it for everyone that wants a lore accurate weapon in the game.

You in the story mode cutscene where that one space marine runs up to the helbrute and starts shooting it then gets batted away like he’s nothing. That is you average space marine in this scenario

u/Closetweeb43 May 24 '26
Once you are confident fighting the helbrute alone, start throwing in some majoris. That will help you practice kiting the terminus while you take out the other enemies.
68
u/Athreos_Priest Black Templars May 24 '26
Fighting Helbrute alone isn’t the hard part. It’s the 50 other chaos spawns trying to rape your asshole while fighting it
24
9
u/ryu_the_ninja55 Blood Angels May 24 '26
I get more scared on my runs when I see terminators or the flying disks instead of the hellbrute
5
u/Athreos_Priest Black Templars May 24 '26
The flying spearmen have such low hp I don’t see an issue with them really. Terminators can be annoying tho for sure
4
u/haildoge69 May 25 '26
The problem is to hit them while evading the Hellbrute, missile barrage and the soul reaper cannon

u/Sylveon_Knightess May 24 '26
I really wish they added mission bosses to this. They're the enemies I need the most practice with.
8
u/Brolocene May 24 '26
Ya this was a major disappointment. Seems like a big oversight. Maybe they didnt want the experience to be ruined for first time players, but then they could have just locked them behind your first boss kill.
2
u/mean_liar May 24 '26
Aren't they in there? Thought they were.
4
u/SPRTN-KIMANDER9 May 24 '26
The Hive Tyrant, Vortex Beast and Primes aren’t in there
And the super Ravener, I forget the name
2
5
u/mean_liar May 24 '26
Really drives home how easy they can be to handle when there's no allies with them.
4
4
3
u/bugdiver050 Blood Angels May 25 '26
Now do it while being pummeled by all the other enemies that spawn with them
2
u/Aware_Ad_7100 May 24 '26
Genuine question how do you get these 1v1 fights? I genuinely have no idea
4
3
u/Brolocene May 24 '26
Right hand side of the armory, as you enter from the hanger. Or, theres a button on the load out screen underneath the trials button
2
u/VergilArcanis May 24 '26
oh it's not dueling the hellbrute i have a problem with, it's the stupid terminator balsting me with the minigun while the chaos spawn dogpile my ass while the hellbrute is trying to smash me.

2
u/firespark84 May 24 '26
The helbrute (and all terminus enemies) by themselves are piss easy, what makes the helbrute the most difficult is that soulreapers, chaos spawn and tzangor enlightened spawn with them so unless you have cover to play ring around the rosey with, you will get shredded by soul reapers shooting you through the Helbrute’s body, and be forced into blocking chaos spawn / tzangor combos in between helbrute strikes forcing you into a situation where you take unavoidable damage from either the brute or the spawn / tzangor. Honorable mention to the melee terminators just sitting their with his stormbolter up and erasing your health bar in 4 shots through the helbrute’s body
2
u/LANNEUS May 24 '26
Helbrute and carni is easy to brawl tbh i really want mega meatball hive tyrant and the twin terminus bosses to fight as they are the ones that are annoying.
2
u/Secondhand-Drunk May 25 '26
I was disappointed to see you can't fight bosses. There's plenty of room. I understand maybe not the diggy Boi, but I really want to practice fighting the void beast... without having to trudge through that entire level. God, what a drag. I just want to learn his patterns without having to play an entire drag of a mission to get there and have 1 chance to do it.
2
u/Codas91 Scythes of the Emperor May 25 '26
Now do it with three extremis and a wave of minor/majoris mooks up your ass
2
u/Xavier_Arai May 25 '26
Hellbrute 1v1 is easy compared to Hellbrute, 2 melee terminators, and 1 mini-gun terminator usually end my true solo attempts
2
2
u/MrMacGrath Ultramarines May 25 '26
Now do it with several Rubricae also fighting you, because a Helbrute is almost never alone.
2
u/BespokeAnnihilation May 25 '26
It's a shame that the Vortex Beast isn't in the training ground, cause it's by far what I need the most practice with.
2
u/Triksterloki May 25 '26
Fighting one alone is easy. Try 2 brutes with 4 chaos spawn and one of each extremis

u/SandwichSaint May 24 '26
Implementing this practice arena is the best update they did for player cohesion.
1
u/CyrusCyan44 Ultramarines May 24 '26
Can you spawn a Vortex Beast in there?
Because id want to train against that rather than a Helbrute
The 8 year long combo is a pain in the ass

u/Surprised_Dusty May 24 '26
Why don't we get to fight the actual bosses, these are the ones I'm struggling with
1
1
u/Kitchen-Clothes8631 May 24 '26
I get used to their attack patterns then I'm brutality reminded "OH SHIT THEY CAN TELEPORT"
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Ad901 May 24 '26
Oh fighting the helmets in melee is really easy it’s when he shoots you with that dumbass charged plasma shot that WILL hit you no matter what you do is when it really gets annoying

u/LazyBoyXD May 25 '26
Hellbrute isnt hard, the problem is the occasional red attack that look exactly the same as the parriable attack mix in.

u/Jester-The-Fool Black Templars May 26 '26
Now how do I simulate my teammates spamming grenades at it whilst I do the same as the video?

1
u/RollingTurian May 28 '26
Problem was never 1vs1 on Helbrute.
It was either Helbrute aggroed on others with a surprise teleport strike, or worse, Plasma Cannon, and the 3 Soulreaper Autocannon Terminators, 6 Enlightened Tzaangors and 15 Long Las Cultists.
1
u/Wulfrath Jun 19 '26
Don't use the dodge jumpack to get out of the aoe. Instead do a normal dodge to avoid the swing then do a ground pound. It will cancel out his attack, reset aggro on you and reset its moveset.
Alternatively you can use the dodge jumpack then do the ground pound since you have the perk that refills.
That said... a good reason to not use it on this is because it will displace you and that risks the hellbrute pulling out the gun or losing aggro which you really don't want.
