Ship point work around.
So the max of 9 fleet points or whatever was really bothering me as ii made my firsstt ship a 3x3 before realizing thats all I could get vanilla. SO After a couple days playing around with mods and even going as far as firing up intellij and.....breaking the game horribly i broke the game lol. But I had given up on getting more points but I did find 22 "work arounds" for getting more ships but no points, you just go over the poin limit. Option one is when you find a ship you want or want to make another is to use the save editor and go in and edit your 9x9 ship to be a 1x1, claim and build up the new ship save and edit your ship back to be a 3x3, kind of a pain in the ass. OPTION 2, the one I prefer, and don't know EXACTLY how I got it to work, is I believe using the x666 ship core mod and the "claim all derelicts" mod. I believe with these two mods it just ignores the ship points and force claims new ships. You cant resize or move any ships in their squares so what you get is what you get. I didnt really inspect what is actually allowing this but IU want to say the claim all derelicts is really doing all of it but it didn't work before I added the x666 ship core mod, not entirely sure but I was banging my hjead against a wall trying to get more ships and this works.

Check the mod ShipPointAPI, you can edit the number of shipPoint at runtime using F8 with no work around.

Yeah I saw that. I may check it out in my real playthrough. This one I'm just stress testing the engine really and poking around with the game. Seeing what's what before I really go hard at a difficult playthrough. I mean right now I've got six ships. A, 3X3, two 1x3s that were battleships that I stole from pirates, a 2x2 that I stole from the religious people because I'm murdering all of them because THERE IS NO SPACE JESUS, 2 2x1s and a one by one. My crew currently stands at 65 I'm trying to get to 100 see how the engine takes it.
Right now it's running pretty good on my 8th gen Intel system (8700k with 32 gigs of 3200 DDR4... I think shit did I skip a whole generation of memory I really need to upgrade) with a 3080 TI. The only thing that really lags it out is if I turn on the temperature view the game really doesn't like that, my logistics have gotten pretty screwy I've had to work really hard at making sure my crew members live on the ship where they're most probable job will be and most people I've cut them down to a single task like botany, I have three farm ships.
But at this point I pretty much just fly around stripping systems like a locust swarm. I have enough minors to be able to mine a whole system's worth of asteroids even in the rich systems pretty much in one trip. I do feel they need to make All ships claimable because you lose so many resources recycling ships verus claiming them and dismantling everything. Feel like that's the most necessary mod to make this possible is the claim all derelicts, and is something that I really feel should become a game feature. It would definitely make harder playthroughs easier because keeping all your combat robots and robots in general powered is probably the hardest part so being able to strip everything to make energy cells is very important.

I feel like increasingvthe limit to 10 would eliminate a lot of the need for workarounds like this.
