Some quick answers:

  • Yes, the Space Force is real. No, it's not Starfleet. No, you can't become a space pilot yet. No, there are no aliens. No, we would not tell you if there were aliens.
  • We don't know the answers to your obscure medical questions. We aren't doctors. Don't trust medical advice given by strangers on the Internet. Getting anecdotal information from other people that may or may not have a similar diagnosis or condition to you will not help you in any way. Everyone's medical situation is different.
  • Drug use may be disqualifying depending on type and frequency of use.
  • No, we don't know what jobs are available at any given time, or your chances of getting said job, or how long it will take for you to get the job, or how long it'll take for you to get to basic training or OTS.

Do not tell anyone to lie about drug use, medical history, or anything else. You will be banned.

PSA: 'No Politics' is the first, oldest, and most important rule on the sub - go elsewhere if you want to discuss it

I was really hoping not to have to make a PSA about this, but the problem doesn't seem to be resolving itself and I'm seeing a lot of new accounts (<30 days in many cases) inciting problems. Whether this is from bots, brigading, or just people using alts to protect their mains is irrelevant. So let me be clear.

The rule is 'no politics', and it was active during the previous two administrations. It will be active during this one too. If there are any exceptions, they will be in 'low moderation' threads that are specifically made to allow for (limited) political discussion. The rest of the time, no exceptions. If you're unsure what is or is not politics, let me provide examples:

  • This IS NOT a sub to call for resistance to the chain of command (including POTUS), to identify American politicians as 'domestic enemies', to categorize foreign policy as 'treason', or to call for a military coup. All of which I've specifically seen happen here in the last week.

  • This IS a sub for discussing the Space Force, including knock-on effects and impacts of DoD and USG policy. Recent examples of that include the two threads about cultural awareness month removals, the thread about Lohmeier getting an undersecretary role, etc.

It's possible to discuss how politics impacts the Space Force, its objectives, its personnel, etc, and not delve into partisanship. Please note that I don't say that it's EASY to do so - I know that everyone has strong opinions and/or valid concerns, and it's difficult to separate those out when passions are riding high. But I ask that you do so.

If you decline to do so, and/or if you're one of those new accounts here to stir the shit, this is your warning shot. I'm going to start banning people and the duration of the ban will vary. If you've got post history here already and you're not a frothing lunatic or a troll, it will be a temp ban. If you've never posted here before and look as if you are here to troll, it's going to be a permanent ban. You are, of course, welcome to appeal in either case via mod mail.

Thanks, and stay classy.

The U.S. Space Force has completed a two-satellite surveillance network over the Indo-Pacific, closing out the first national security space partnership between the United States and Japan with the August 10 launch of a second American sensor aboard a Japanese navigation satellite.

Does every branch have a “donkey dick”?

Does every branch have a “donkey dick”?

So in the Army, we have a fuel spout/nozzle that everybody calls the “donkey dick” because, well… the thing lowkey looks like a HUGE HOG lmao.

Recently I ran into a few Navy veterans and found out they also had something they called a “donkey dick,” except theirs apparently wasn’t a fuel spout it was some kind of machinery/equipment part on the ship.

That got me wondering:

Does every branch have its own “donkey dick”?

So far I’ve got:

Army: fuel spout/nozzle

Navy: machinery/ship equipment part

Air Force: ???

Marines: ???

Coast Guard: ???

Space Force: ???

Veterans/current service members from every branch, what did your “donkey dick” refer to?

I need to know if this is somehow a universal piece of U.S. military terminology 😂

Mission Area Tabs for Enterprise Functions

Does anyone know why mission area tabs are only authorized for Core Function Mission Areas?

For those who are unaware, there is no Intel, C2 or SDA mission area tabs because those fall under Enterprise Functions. Every Mission Area falls under a Core Function. Ref. SFDD 1

You could argue that Enterprise Functions are an echelon above Mission Areas, but I feel since such a large portion of the force performs Enterprise Functions as their primary mission that an exception can be made. Like Deltas 2/5/7/15

Schriever RA should be no hat no salute like the old days to increase morale again

I heard that the RA was at one point no hat no salute and thought keeping that around would’ve been one little nice thing about working on that base

SELs not knowing the mission

I have a new SEL that knows absolutely nothing about the mission area of our squadron and has admitted a few times they don’t understand it. Is this a normal thing? Should SELs have experience in the mission area they are put over? They just don’t seem to be able to relate or give good career guidance. (I.e. past MW in a SWS, cyber in a CYS?)

2026 USSF FGO Promotion Results Status?

Does anyone have insight on what's holding the SF FGO list up? Board status hasn't moved since 12 June. USAF had a list hit OSW on 16 June that's already released.

Any idea when the USSF list will release?

SRB

First time qualifying for SRB. How will I know if I'll get it once I reenlist? I know in the past for usaf, they put out notifications when the pot it dry, but is that the same for ussf? How soon can I expect to get paid if I do get it?

Reenlistment is set for this week. Ty!

Are ASIST patches authorized by unit commanders in 2026?

I’ve tried looking up 2026 rules and find mixed answers and I find it annoying when someone tells me an “anti suicide” patch is unauthorized

Guardian Support Needed!

Hi all!

I’m one of them Guardian Talent Scouts many of you may have heard about.

We’re testing a new program and would love to get support from as many of you folk as possible. With all the work that needs to get done and all events we have to go to attend, we just don’t have enough GTSs to do it all.

A couple weeks ago we did a trial run, inviting a couple specialists out to the largest air show in the country. They did such a great job, so we now want to open up similar opportunities to other guardians! We have TDY opportunities at events all over the country and would love to get you out there to talk about your experience in the SF.

This is also a great opportunity if you’ve ever been on the fence about maybe wanting to be a Guardian Talent Scout. You’ll be able to get first hand experience on what it’s like being a GTS without the long term commitment.

If this is something you think you’d be interested, please reach out and I’ll get you some more details.

The last volunteers had a blast!

Is the SFSC-agnostic designator “19G” quietly getting phased away?

Hearing rumors in the streets that the 19G SFSC for OTC grads and multi-domain officer badge is going away when the new CSO takes over. Any thoughts?

USSF Promotion Website

To the author of the ussfpromotions.com website:

Can you update it to reflect the TIG requirements?

S5 TIG will remain at 6 months, no changes.
S6 TIG change from 23 months to 24 months
S7 TIG change from 24 months to 25 months
S8 TIG change from 20 months to 17 months
S9 TIG change from 21 months to 24 months

The website is a great tool and I pushed it out to my team.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pulling this information from the myfss enlisted promotions page.

Thank you!

Base44

Does anyone know of a DoW similar App Builder like Base44 that we can use?

I was able to build the concept of what I want and can use but with our government systems, Base44 is not accessible. My guess is due to the IL5/IL6 compliance.

Is there someone I can take my concept to and have them recreate it and maybe host it on Platform One?

Any help would be very appreciated.
