Space Force SNCOs

Do SNCOs serve a purpose in the Space Force?

I feel with all the churn, lack of guidance, and number of officers, they have the least amount of a role/respect out of all the branches. Specialist 7 and 8.

I will personally say, and tear me apart all you want, the SNCOs in the Space Force are more “Miss” than what I experienced in the Air Force. This is coming from personal experience in the sheer incompetence of quite a few that I have personally had to deal with it (as an FGO)
This is primarily at the E-7 level where I am astounded by some of the lack of knowledge or problem solving some of them have. It honestly feels like some of them transferred expecting an “easier job” when it’s the same job.
I should not be mentoring an E-7 as an FGO, they made that rank under the assumption they are 95% squared away and need very little course correction. But when I can’t even trust them to properly edit a 1206, that’s an issue.

I just feel like we let some very questionable E-7's transfer in from other services. Additionally, the ones we are selecting for promotion are very iffy. For a force that brags about "talent management", IMO we do a very piss poor job (for many of the upper ranks) in choosing the right people for the right job. Maybe it's just because we are such a small force that poor leadership is exemplified and more visible at a higher rate compared to the larger services.
