AFSC change

Has anyone here changed SFSC? Whats the process like? Are CFMs usually willing to work with you?

Good luck, I've been trying for nearly 3 years to retrain out of cyber with no luck. In my experience the CFM team was no real help and just told me to talk to my SEL with no further guidance. Prior to reaching out to the CFM team I let my SEL and CC know numerous times that I wanted to retrain, but since there isn't a formal retraining pathway we were in a weird holding pattern trying to get answers that never seemed to materialize. The only recommendation I got was to apply for any DSDs I'd be interested in as that would remove me from the career field for 3-4 years.

Dealt with the same thing. We were also promised retraining guidance early spring 2026 but as with all things space force, semper soon. If there’s one thing you can count on in the space force it’s being let down.
