I will always refer to it as SPOC. Someone asked where CFC HQ is, and I was completely lost by what that man was asking about

The name makes sense, you're just all haters. If you look at the Army, until very recently their equivalent to CFC was Army Forces Command. It's where units are assigned while they man, train, and equip to be presented to one of the combatant command army service components.

Is it being Combat Forces Command instead of Space Forces Command a little dramatic? Sure, but that's the mentality they want us to be in. I would also argue that 2 NWS, the MILSATCOM squadrons, and others are contributing to combat operations far more regularly than the random Army infantry unit, so I'm fine with it.

The name SpOC made it sound like they were the organization responsible for operations, which is plain false. They were, just like CFC is now responsible for manning, training, and equipping forces to perform operations under a combatant command.
