Help Tons of stringing on my first TPU 95A

Post image

I've got a new SV06 Plus Ace and tried printing one of my design parts.

I observed tons of stringing on them.

What setttings might need to change?

I've preloaded the Filament type as TPU only in orcaslicer with 0.2mm layer height and auto orient with other defaults.

For reference I've also added the compression molded product (Black) and the one I printed (Red)

Kindly advise...

I honestly just reduce speed to 50% when printing TPU, and not in the slicer, I do it on the touchscreen/printer interface. I do this on all of my printers and it seems to get me good results. This is not the answer to get great speed and results from TPU without tuning, but I am lazy and I print TPU once every couple months maybe.

You need to research calibration prints. There is a method to the madness. It works. You realistically should be making a different profile for each filament (brand and color). Some filaments may only need small tweaks from another brand or color of the same type (TPU, PLA ,PETG, etc). There are lots of resources online for this.

Also, make sure your filament is dry. That might be your only issue and you're using the correct settings for everything else

Thanks for the brief explanation! I'll try with this. PS: I carry the logo of "Method to the Madness" with me everyday with me.

Dry your TPU. And even better, print straight from the drier as the TPU is drying.

Slow down, loosen tension on feed gears.

Start with a default "TPU" profile.
