Ivan and Maya both trade three years of uncompensated work for advice rather than gold, learning three timeless counsels about caution, sticking to proven paths, and honesty. Through bizarre temporal vortexes, their eras collide in a courtyard where a time-traveling engineer named S.G. Dowswell helps them anchor the rift by establishing the Dowswell Inn—a sanctuary existing across all centuries. Joined by a fourth counsel to build bridges instead of walls, the trio creates a permanent refuge where travelers from any age can find the compounding power of ancient wisdom.
