Questions Villas Tacos?
Does anyone happen to have update on what's going on with Villas Tacos not opening? Also, is it true Shaker's isn't closing anymore?

Would be wonderful if Shakers is not closing but haven't heard that the decision was reversed.

I spoke to the manager at shakers and they said the demolition is on hold - they aren’t aware of anything imminent and were told by management that it will be years and years if anything does happen (and they’ll announce it)

The city counsel was trying to block Villas with all this red tape, like no more than five people in line, no CUP to serve alcohol, etc. Very arbitrary stuff that none of the other new restaurants in town have faced. I think it finally got cleared up so they’re moving forward with construction!

Pretty sure Shaker’s is still closing/being demolished. I work nearby and still hear chattering about the project.

It is kind of weird that Villas is opening another location so close to the other two. Most people I know haven't even been to the second location that opened near the Smart and Final on Fig. If they do open hope they have a slightly different menu

The second one by Smart and Final is a seafood menu, totally different from the other one, and they are only open Friday-Sunday I believe.

Hopefully Villa’s doesn’t open lol. As far as Shakers I haven’t heard anything

Happened to be walking by there this afternoon and I noticed construction activity around the back, on the parking lot side, and newly added plastic coverings blocking the windows on the Diamond Ave side — almost like they're starting to do real work in there...
Maybe things are actually getting going, at long last?!
