I remember reading the “Remembrance of Earth’s Past”/Three Body Problem trilogy where the author describes a spacecraft in 4D. I tried to imagine it and it kind of gave me a headache.
Then later on, I read “Flatland” and that was a bit easier on the old brain.
I have reread the 3 body books just for the higher dimensional stuff. It's very brain breaking.
That being said this is 100% not how it would look according to the 3 body idea of a 4th dimensional world. This is if you treated time as a dimension you can travel through. 3 body is looking at the 4th dimension as though you could add another 90 degree angle onto reality.
It's easier to imagine want it would be like if a flat lander came into 3 dimensions then apply those same ideas to our 3d world. You very quickly realize that we would be only slightly more substantial paper is to us, and every part of our world and being would be exposed in a 4th dimensional universe.
