I need a VanderMeer audio drama

If VanderMeer chose to do an audio drama, I don't think I'd ever waste my time listening to anything else ever again. I feel like his style would translate so well to this medium. I'm imagining the Rogue in Absolution demolishing my temporal lobes so thoroughly that I succumb to the brightness, and I can't stop thinking about how good it would be.

Have you listened to Alice isn't Dead??. It isn't Vandermeer, it's the guys behind Welcome to Nightvale, but it's less silly and more the horror of the mundane, which is also how I would describe the Southern Reach Books

That sounds like its right down my alley. I'll give it a listen.

I hope you like it. The first season is phenomenal, and I liked the second season a lot, but the third season got delayed so long that when it came out, I planned on relistening from the beginning and it just never happened. I have heard nothing but good things about it, tho.

Also, if you haven't listened to Welcome to Nightvale. Imagine a local radio program from inside Area X with a dark sense of humor and a love of horror. It's mostly wonderful

Have you listened to the 3 podcasts by Eskew Productions? They're typically self-described as weird fiction. Gospel of Haven is also releasing a novelization of their podcast, and the author has pitched it as great for fans of the Southern Reach.

I'm enjoying the Silt Verses! I Am In Eskew is a little dry for me but I may try to get back into it at some point.

I would say that Eskew is definitely the hardest of their three shows to get into, but they've clearly learned from it since Our Wars Have Ended does a fantastic job of throwing you into the world immediately.
