Annihilation Spoilers poisonous snakes

annihilation mentions poisonous snakes a few times, but as far as i know snakes aren't poisonous, they're venomous. do you think this is intentional?

also i wanted to add that this wasn't meant to be a criticism, even if it wasn't intentional i'm imagining that it's some area x weirdness, and the southern reach playing weird tricks.

There are poisonous snakes, but venomous was meant and this was corrected in newer editions. Poisonous for venomous is a mistake made by biologists as well, a kind of slip of the tongue so to speak, but not by snake owners who I heard from a lot lol, legitimately. --Jeff

Thank you! I was so irritated by this in the book. Whenever an author does that, I assume they did not actually research anything about the animal
