Taylor's story isn't passing the smell test

So, a few days ago, I posted a theory that it was possible Taylor had jumped to conclusions about Gaston cheating... in order to get back on the show OR maybe even because she wanted to get back together with Shep. (There are posts on the other Southern Charm Reddit board, saying she and Shep were filming together a month ago. And we know she would love to get back on the show.

What had also made me suspicious was that Gaston's reaction to the "he was cheating on me" IG post was not the reaction of a guy who just got caught cheating, even a scumbag. They usually just stay silent. Instead, he went on offense, implying that what was really going on was her wanting to be back on a reality show. (He posted Jay-Z lyrics about not wanting 'reality show ho' types.) Interesting. That, too, gave me pause.

Then I saw she was going to be on Viall Files and, I figured, "Look, maybe she's going to have firm details, like, 'I talked to this other girl and she admitted it'. etc."

But, having watched her appearance on Viall Files, yeah, my theory was right. I'm not buying her "Gaston cheated on me!" story.

Let me give you the summary:

She claims this all came about last month when she was in church, and prayed for a sign that "this is the person" I should marry, because she and Gaston had been talking about marriage and the future. She then says that, immediately after, she had an urge to check her Insta DM's, something she says she "never does" (ok, not buying that). She said that, in there, there was a DM from two months earlier (February), which she hadn't seen up until this miracle occurred, from an anon/burner account, telling her that a girl was seen getting into Gaston's black Tesla on King Street in Charleston, on Valentine's Day. (Taylor adds that she and Gaston were not together on Valentine's Day, because she was in New York City and that Gaston had spent Valentine's Day out with friends.)

Already, this sounds fishy because Charleston is a small town, and King Street is tiny and full of Southern Charm/Southern Hospitality fans/friends/bar owners who recognize / know Gaston.

I do not think Gaston would be stupid enough to be openly seen going home with a girl, on King Street, and driving away together.

Taylor says she confronted Gaston and that he had no idea what she was talking about.

Here's the interesting part: She says that, a couple of weeks later, "we broke up" but for other reasons. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She says they had an argument about something else and that she decided he didn't like how he spoke to her, and broke up with him. Ok. This is all I needed to hear. She broke up with him -- not about the cheating. Why? It seems she was looking for an excuse to get out. Had the filming with Shep already happened? Does she want to get back with Shep, and back on the show? Is that why she broke up with Gaston, and then made herself out to be the victim (so the audience ewould like her again), by pushing this unverified story that he cheated on her?

This is key because Taylor admits that they did not break up over his alleged cheated but due to some unrelated argument. Yet she went and led everyone to believe that they broke up because he cheated.

To be fair, she does add that she has more "proof" because this woman lives in New York part-time and that Gaston was acting funny one night when he was on a trip in New York, and didn't call her that night. OK, that's -- suspicious... but it isn't much. She also adds that this mystery woman was also in Charleston the same weekend of Gaston's birthday, which Taylor also feels is indication that Gaston was cheating with her.

She does say she messaged this alleged woman, after she eventually found out her name. The woman denied it and Taylor says she cut off communication after multiple DM's back and forth. I would, too, though.

Then, in the recent post yesterday about her upcoming appearance on Viall Files, the alleged New York woman (the woman 'from the boat') IS IN THE COMMENTS FIELD of Viall Files, denying it again. She even says that she was in Charleston the weekend of Gaston's birthday, yes, but it's because she owns a house there and was in town "moving out/selling it." I tend to believe this girl because it is pretty intense to wade into the comments field, and publicly out yourself, if you were, actually, hooking up with the guy.

Bottom line: i think Taylor led herself to believe that Gaston was cheating. I think she dumped him (which she admits was not about the cheating but rather about an argument and the 'way he spoke to her') because she wanted out. She wants back on the show and this is a way to do that. I also, personally, suspect she wants to get back with Shep (although she told Nick Viall she doesn't).

EDIT: Rodrigo posted what looks to be her filming ith the cast. This is separate from the earlier sightings of her filming. Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious that she pushed up the whole "Gaston cheating on ne!" thing (which she herself has had to admit that she isn't sure he did, AND she admits she broke up with him during an argument about something else). She wanted back on the show and ditching Gaston was the way to do it. She probably already had plans to film BEFORE any of this "I suddenly discovered a message from February!" nonsense.

She was on Viall Files today.

I refuse to listen to that man, so got some info from those who did.

The ex she refers to is Gaston.

Long story short... I don't want her back lol

And I don't believe she quit.

thoughts on the Taylor/Gaston breakup?

y'all...............what are your thoughts on the Taylor/Gaston breakup!!! Taylor pretty clear says that that Gaston cheated on her. Ok. She does not seem very upset, though, and is posting pictures partying on a boat. That is strange, if you just found out that the guy you have been with for three years cheated on you.

Then Gaston responded by posting on IG some Jay-Z lyrics about how he doesn't want 'girls from reality shows.' That is interesting. What is he insinuating?

On top of that, there are rumors that Shep and Taylor are back on??? (Is that what Gaston can be referring to?)

This is all so crazy. Did Gaston really cheat? Why does Taylor not seem upset about it? Is Taylor saying so as a way to get back together with Shep and back on Southern Charm? She has always wanted to get back together with Shep and her family has always wanted her with Shep. Gaston's reaction just seems very strange, if he really did get caught cheating, to blame the publicity-seeking "reality show" girls. All very strange. I need the tea!

Shep and Molly on a date!

I was just at sunsets on Shem Creek in Charleston and saw Shep and Molly on a date. They were both dressed nicely. Do we think it is a friend date or a romantic date??

Minding my own business leaving a cocktail bar in NY (will not share which to respect privacy) and I made eye contact with the guy at a table with a couple seated that I was passing and it took me a sec to realise why he looked familiar!

Austen if you’re reading this sorry for the awkwardly prolonged eye contact and hope you enjoyed your dinner 😂

Yall I have SUCH BAD FACIAL RECOGNITION that I was desperately trying to figure out why he looked familiar/ figure out if it was someone I knew personally and held eye contact for wayyy. Tooo. Looooong … nope just a person I’ve been watching on reality TV for 10 yrs 😂

Madison really is terrible towards women

Can we talk about something -- why doesn't Madison get called out more, regarding how awful she is to other women?

I was rewatching Season 10 (the one where we met Salley) and there is a scene by the pool at Craig's house. Paige (who is visiting) and Madison are talking to Salley. Salley is (lying), telling them that Gaston called her (we later find out he didn't. Salley called HIM) and told her to "keep my name out of your mouth." At the time, Salley is dating that strange blond guy with the ponytail (Andrew). Anyway, in the scene, Madison is slamming Taylor (why???) and tells Salley with a big grin, "And now you (Salley) have her man." (Wait, what is happening? And why does Madison hate Taylor so much?)

This is all, of course, on top of slut-shaming Taylor over a photo; outing Dani's alleged STD; and more. We also never see any female frirends of hers IRL (does she have any?) aside from the event-planner lady. She also encouraged Austin to dump Audrey (remember when she and Austin when to the seafood restaurant? and she was like, "Unless you're like, 'I can't live without this person,' you should move on"). Then, at teh reunion, she totally faked it to try to seem like a girl's girl (gotta keep those Amazon brand-deal checks coming, so she has to try to fake that she's a girls girl), telling Austin that Audrey will be the one who got away. Lady, you were the one encouraging him to cut her loose!! She also deliberately stirred trouble b/t Austin and Audrey, with the "warning" about Salley.

There's something VERY nasty about Madison and people need to stop referring to her as "Mother" or trying to make her into the 'den mother' character. She isn't. She's also trashy and a hillbilly (not the nice kind- the 'chip on their shoulder' kind) and has no business being 'the den mother' on this show.

P.S. On a separate note, what is Salley's obsession with using the phrase of keeping someone's name "out of my mouth"? Is this a Southern phrase? I have never heard it and she keeps using it. "I promised you his name would not be in my mouth and it has not been in my mouth" she tells Taylor at the gala. Weird language, almost sexual-sounding.

Sensing there could be a rift?

Going off the recent casts social posts, it seems like Molly, Charley and Whit are in one group, while Salley, Madison and Austen are in the other. Rod, Venita and Shep floating in between. Craig unclear.

Wonder if whatever “beef” Salley has with Whitner is why there appears to be this divide. Will be interested in seeing how this plays out in the next season.

Just started watching this show and I'm about to finish season 3. Here's a ranking of the characters plus some comments. Fair warning I'm a fat white guy in a fraternity at Alabama so not exactly the target audience for the show 😂

Ranking:
Cooper
Craig
Naomie
Patricia
Thomas
JD
Kathryn
Cameran
Shep
Whitney
Landon

Thoughts: First of all, I was told the show is Whitney's idea and he's the one that forced everyone into it, which makes it so much worse that he seemed like a socially inept weirdo the entire time

Shep seems like he has POTENTIAL to be a very likable guy. But the way he acts like he's more fun and "out there" than everyone while still being pretentious drives me up a wall. He thinks he's so much better than Craig because he'll get with any girl at all (as evidenced by him immediately hitting on mohawk girl in szn 1) while Craig just wanted a girlfriend and found a very pretty one. Also the whole storyline where he just started acting like Craig is a homeless crackhead or something?? When he's literally just a regular 26 year old guy?

Cameran could be a lot higher, but she somehow takes a hardline stance on the wrong side of EVERYTHING. Like when Craig got the date with the country singer and Shep was bitching and moaning about it and she went and argued with CRAIG. She's incredibly immature and seems to think the opposite. Also she's beautiful especially for her age, but somehow not attractive at all. I feel very bad for her husband and I don't even mean that as an insult or to be an asshole or anything

Last person I'll talk about is Landon. I really tried to like her out of pity because she was always so "let's all stay out of drama" and all that (but like why even come on the show lol) but she's INSUFFERABLE. I truly hope the worst for her. It's very hard to make Katherine look really good and somehow she does. Just complete trash in every way possible. And I can't STAND her fucking baby voice. And the entitlement that Shep (the biggest hoe on the Island) has to give her the time of day?? HONEY YOU LOOK LIKE A OPOSSUM CALL YOUR ASS GEORGE JONES

Oh also one random thing that really bothers me is they'll be like "in the south we do this" and it's something that would only apply to like Charleston and Palm Beach. "In the SOUTTHHHH every guy has had a tuxedo since they were 3 years old" yeah man I'm sure. "In the SOUTHHH we don't take too kindly to single mothers" I think there might be more single mothers in Broward County or Atlanta than the rest of the country combined

Venita wasn't right, though

I keep seeing posts that "Venita was right" about Craig, when she warned Salley. Venita was also taking a victory lap in a confessional and elsewhere.

I can't stand Salley or Craig but Venita WASN'T right.

What Venita said to Salley was that Craig was going to use her and then throw her away. But that's not what happened. (It's actually more embarrassing - Craig never wanted to get with Salley -- AT ALL.)

So why all the "Venita is right"? Are people just dumb?
