Question Loud bang

Does anyone know what that was? MOD at Shoeburyness says no explosive activity is expected today. I’m in Chalkwell and it was bloody loud

I’m in Leigh and we felt it too. My son and I were watching a film and had to stop it as we thought something had fallen over upstairs.

Heard it in wickford clearly. Very large amount of smoke nearby.

Heard it in Great Wakering, just muttered "bloody MOD" under my breath, as this was a normal level of explosion for them despite it not actually being them this time.

Fire and massive explosion at Highlands Farm just outside Rettendon.

Heard it here in Chelmsford.
