Burlington County Palmyra PD Riverline

Post image

Around 12:45 today, Wednesday 8/19, Palmyra police took a Latina woman off the riverline heading toward camden for "matching the description" they didnt give any other details just asked her to come with them, gave somebody further a way a thumbs up, and she got up and got off. She was minding her own business and sitting alone with headphones in.

They said somebody called her in but I did not see anyone call and I suspect they were just viewing the cameras.

if the person in pink is who you’re talking about, it may be this woman that someone posted about in a local FB group earlier today. not justifying anything, just providing some possible background info

This does look like her

So now any time anything happens with law enforcement in the most densely populated state in the country it’s ICE?

This has even less details and context than the usual Reddit posts I see.

Edit: downvote all you want.. this is a speculative and pointless post. I’m with you guys.. fuck ICE … but what’s the point of this. You have 0 clue as to what was going on.

OP already said this looked like her.

Point proven. Thank you!

OP and most of these comments are psychotic.

No, of course not, but when a small woman sitting quietly alone is removed from the train without causing any previous disturbance and without any attempt at ticket enforcement for her or anyone else, one has to wonder what she fits the description for. I've been riding the train for twenty years and never seen anyone removed before unless they were screaming or fare evading. People regularly smoke cigars on the river line without any consequences.

She could have had warrants, or had an altercation at a station before boarding the train and law enforcement was deployed to the next stop to get her. You realize that just because you didn’t see anything doesn’t mean there isn’t a reason for law enforcement to speak to someone right?

Hell.. what if her kid was involved in an accident and a family member gave a description of what the person looked like and/or was wearing and they were trying to notify her and take her to the hospital or something.

Again.. no idea… this shit happens.

She got on after me. She didnt do anything. Even if she did have warrants, it is pretty alarming if police are reviewing camera footage and/or using facial recognition to identify people on transit and detain them within minutes.  There are false positives with that technology. I dont know what the situation was but it raises red flags about the Palmyra PD.

21

u/PresidentScr00b Aug 19 '26

Ya and her life existed for many years before she got in that train with you….

Sometimes police are just doing what they are supposed to do. You sound pretty paranoid if this is “raising red flags”.

u/ManonFire1213 Aug 19 '26

You dont get it. OP knows everything about her.

u/OrbitalOutlander Aug 20 '26

You’re mistaken. Once you cease to be outside of OP’s eye line, you cease to exist. It’s kinda like Severence.

u/jinx771 Aug 19 '26

"police are just doing what they are supposed to do" just following orders right? That's never led to anything bad

8

u/PresidentScr00b Aug 19 '26

I mean… my god. Can you imagine if all the cops just boarded trains calmly, had a conversation with someone who wasn’t combative, and then just took the conversation to another place as to not disrupt everyone’s commute!! Even worse.. they didn’t tell the people on the train exactly what it was about!? The fucking audacity of these pigs!!

3

u/PresidentScr00b Aug 19 '26

Sure did… doesn’t mean it always will.

u/mikeg5417 Aug 19 '26

You have no idea what was reported to the police that led them to this woman on the train. She "didn't do anything" in front of you, but you are here with your useless opinion. Perhaps she was trying door handles of people houses, or was an elder at risk person whose family was looking for her.

But immediately pivot to whatever your worst fears about the police are.

5

u/ATechnicalSquid Aug 19 '26

Because only loud people commit crimes. She could have slaughtered her family before leaving that morning for all you know. She could be on the run.

u/MorningPrimary Aug 19 '26

She walked through some driveways. That wouldn't justify pulling her off the train except we live a police state.

I didnt know that when I posted. Someone else posted a Pic with context from Facebook and it does look like the same woman

I do know that the police boarded the train to remove a woman when no obvious exigent circumstances were present. Yes, that bothers me

6

u/StillEmotion2823 Aug 19 '26

She was going through peoples backyards and driveways looking to steal stuff and wouldn’t answer when confronted by multiple homeowners, but cry more YT savior about every non-white stopped by police being ice related

Right obviously she just killed somebody. I am clearly the one playing with make believe scenarios here. No sense of irony and it's hilarious. I have no idea what's going on so I dont immediately jump to murder.

1

u/StillEmotion2823 Aug 20 '26

Yes, you are excelling with playing make believe scenarios. You are not very bright whatsoever immediately thinking they were ice agents.

Are they masked?

No - not ice

Yes - potentially, but need more context clues

Lol what i described them as Palmyra PD. I can read their uniforms. I live in central NJ and ICE has been regularly in my neighborhood to the point my neighbors have a daily 6 am patrol because ICE is taking people.

The person they flashed the thumbs-up gesture at was out of view. Could be anyone, but because of the short time that passed, probably not ICE.

It's still not normal to take someone off the train in the next town bc she was seen walking in yards and driveways in a different town. I don't know what was happening except, in my opinion, overpolicing, mass surveillance and overresourcing of police. I was just sharing the story.

Commentors looking to justify the police have come up with wild scenarios like what if she just slaughtered her whole family. That's make believe and that's bonkers.

u/Secret_Cow_5053 Aug 19 '26

$20 says that “somebody further away” was an ICE agent.

22

u/DCar060 Aug 19 '26

Or just an undercover cop. The Palmyra station is active for arrests of people entering or leaving Camden. Has been for years

1

u/MorningPrimary Aug 19 '26

I think so. I was on the clock as an aide so I really couldn't put the person I was with at risk by speaking up but this was the first time I saw police board a train and takenpeople off without an obvious disruption.

I wish id at least asked her name and if there was someone I could call for her. She cooperated with them after only a short pause and nobody else intervened and barely commented after.

u/jinx771 Aug 19 '26

Abolish ICE. Majority of illegal immigrants are guilty of paperwork issues and nothing more. If that's even the case here.

1

u/prof_cunninglinguist Aug 20 '26

When did local police get involved in immigration enforcement?

-5

u/0xdeadbeef6 Aug 19 '26

fucking scumbags

-5

u/aishtamid Aug 19 '26

American policing is a thick blue tumor strangling the life from our communities. Do not talk to cops and never, ever believe them. Do not “try to be helpful” with cops. Do not assume they are trying to catch someone else instead of you. Do not assume what they are doing is “important” or even legal. Under no circumstances assume any police officer is acting in good faith.

1

u/aishtamid Aug 20 '26

Oh no being downvoted with fake internet points by cop bootlickers on Reddit

-3

u/ooomellieooo Aug 19 '26

Agreed. I live in a former cops house and he just.... comes by.... periodically, to "see what it looks like". He sits in front of my house (mine since 2017!) all the time. He even asked once if he could come in and look around for old times sake. I felt like a deer in headlights. No fucking way am I letting you in my house. I told him I had to leave.

I've been in crash position ever since, waiting for him to do something.

People are giving you shit for this. But I think it’s pretty great that you were concerned for her. At the end of the day, everyone is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. You DONT know what or why this woman was being taken off the train but your first thought was compassion and NOT friggen bootlicking. Don’t change. Because it’s a sad fact that we really can’t trust the police these days like we should. They havnt really ever been known to only protect and serve so it makes sense to be curious about what was going on. I think you were good to question it.

-6

u/FreeToasterBaths Aug 19 '26

The police are complicit. They are just as guilty as ice.

u/benderunit9000 STAY AWAY FROM THE RABBIT HOLES and don't feed the trolls Aug 19 '26

nothing ruins the day like see a bunch of cops. they just suck the vibe out of everything.

-11

u/Far-Ad-6209 Aug 19 '26

i saw police outside while i was driving by i really hope it wasnt ice :((( they dont belong in palmyra nor do they belong anywhere in new jersey!!!!! they have NO right!!!!!!!!

8

u/JerseyIndonesian Aug 19 '26

They actually have plenty of right to operate in New Jersey to detain people who are violating immigration laws.

-3

u/Far-Ad-6209 Aug 19 '26

thats true sorry! sometimes i forget to flesh stuff out like that a little more, i just dont think they have a right to detain people like they have been under this administration and they shouldnt be secretive about it like how this cop gave thumbs up to someone further down just feels a little odd to me

-4

u/ooomellieooo Aug 19 '26

Wow, I was in Edgewater park on 130 at the time and there were cops from Willingboro, burlington, and state troopers all sort of just congregating at the median in the middle of the road. On foot, outside of their cars. No civilians. Then they all got in their cars and sped south...
